I'm always shocked that they're allowed to. Aside from the human factor, these players are investments, protect your investment.

Hey I don't get it. Unlike us bandwagon fans in Pittsburgh, the Flyers have "real" fans that always support them, or so they say. Why so many empty seats at the Wells Fargo Center at the end?

Datsyuk is a freak of nature. Unbelievable how good that guy is when he decides to put on the offensive clinic. Watch the highlights on NHL network after the game. Guy does it all, all the time. No disrespect to Zetterberg, but that team might nose-dive when Dat steps away (35 and counting). No one remotely capable of replacing his two-way skills on either side of the ice. Albeit no signs of slowing down either.

He's like 1.5 players out there. So tough to play against.

They're just different players (not sure if you're being sarcastic). Datsyuk has unbelievable defensive as well as offensive anticipation. Malkin is more of a thoroughbred playmaker and scorer. He can play good D when he wants to, but even when he does it's not Datsyuk good.

Oh yeah and I'm sure none of them will be hoping for the Flyers to "tank" it either like the Pens.

Yah no kidding. I was just in there and it took EVERY ounce of willpower I had not to post this (and only this), and leave.

It all started right there. Even the coach is an ex-Flyer (!) ... although he was not going to take that team anywhere. Still.

Philly media starting to turn on Giroux like they did to Richards before him.

Tim Panaccio ‏@tpanotchCSN
When team captain fails to address media after lengthy team meeting and walks out leaving others to face music that is a problem

Sam Carchidi ‏@BroadStBull
Giroux needs to be a better captain, snubs media after another #Flyers loss http://po.st/iUhxA9 via @phillydotcom

**** I hope not. Let him stay right where he is. Give the Blues a legit playmaking C and you can hand them the Cup, depending on who they trade back. Their C would be something like

Backes
Giroux
Roy
Berglund

Pretty wicked lineup down the middle. Most likely they'd trade for a Top 3 D and a 1st round pick or something like that, not a C.

As long as Homer stays right where he is, I am happy.

Blues have the pieces and the need. I bet Giroux goes this season either way though. That whole situation is a **** show. Guy's not producing and due 8 mil/year starting next year.

Doesn't he have some sort of no movement clause, and the NHL changed the rules to not allow you to circumvent the NMC just before it kicked in specifically because Homer kept dicking his players?

Yah the Blues are going to be tough as it is. But add Giroux, even subtracting a good D, they're going to be lethal. I don't like Giroux but give him a fresh start and put more talent around him... he's going to produce. The problem with Philly is they took the main goal scoring talent away from him (Carter), and surrounded him with gritty C / wingers who can chip in some goals but no one who is a pure goal scorer. Even Voracek is more a playmaker than a scorer.

Put Stewart or Tarasenko on his wing (the latter especially) and it will be bad news for the Blackhawks and others in that division. As we'll find out in a couple days, we'll have a hard enough time with STL as they are now. Add Giroux and we'd have a real problem. Of course we have to Disco our way to the Final first and Giroux has to be moved first but you take my point hopefully. Would rather just see him fester in Philly / absorb the ire of the fans / get a worse attitude than he already has.
