Why? Tallon isn't the problem.. Viner was. The fact that Tallon had his hands tied to how much he could spend on talent is what lead to how this team is performing as of now. I think Tallon was getting frustrated with Viner for not giving Tallon the finances to go bring in talented players and Tallon might have been ready to move on. There is only so much you can do with limited resources and expecting players like Versteeg,Matthias,Kopecky,Goc,Gilbert,Gilroy and Markstrom to play top minutes and lead this team to the promise land is ridiculous. I feel as though Tallon will be able to TRULY finish his blueprint like he had started.

You make him sound like he's Scott Gomez. Truth is he is capable of 20+ goals every year. I'd take him back here at the deadline if the panthers kept Salary. Reunite him with Bolland once he's healthy and heading into the playoffs

Why? His skillset would be very redundant.

We need NHL ready defenseman (on the defensive side to boot), not ones that require a lot of development. We have 2 great ones all ready in Gardiner and Rielly.

Let's not make a trade for the sake of one. We need to make our team better, not go sideways.

I'd be interested in Shawn Matthias from a Canucks perspective.

Jets will take Versteeg off your hands, we're stockpiling ex Blackhawks over here.

I still think that proposal of Seto for Versteeg was perfect. I'd do that right now.

Kulikov doesn't need a lot of development. He is a pretty good defense man, and is consistent with his game. He's physical and he can also move the puck pretty well. His d partner Mike freakin Weaver seems to think he is the OFD of the team by constantly controlling it between the two and taking the weakest of shots from the point and making the outlets. He is a top 4 defender right now, and in the proper situation will continue to develop into in my opinion a solid #3 guy, or if you get really lucky a #2. I expect a #3 though.

You mean "NHL ready" as in play 20+ minutes a night at the NHL level? Because that's what Kulikov has done for the last 2-3 years... He doesn't "require a lot of development," coaching, stable partener? Sure, but he's no prospect at this stage.

I was afraid of that, I don't think ROR is going anywhere. Roy really likes him.

What about for Campbell?

I think Kulikov is destined to be a #2, he plays really well. To be honest he's probably our best defenseman right now.

I'd say prospects and picks, but I think Tallon is looking for a veteran to help the team NOW. So I'd have to say Stastny straight up for Campbell with 2-3M salary retained?

I agree with the assessment that he is our best defenseman right now, and tbh it's not even close -- not sure I am willing to call him top pairing material yet, until his offensive game develops more consistently. Not sure how Dineen was telling him to play, but Kuli needs to control the puck more and let the play go through him when he's on the ice.

I don't think there is any way in hell Edmonton does this, I think Yak would be easier to acquire than Eberle. I hope this comes true though.

Panthers need to follow buffalos path and accept the fact they are not a playoff team and rebuild

Yea, just posted that due to the Philly-EDM rumor thread/ it was posted on the Fla board.

Nice to dream, I guess.

That's what they been doing. Rebuilding.

Just have some vets on the team so we don't have every recently drafted prospect up on the big squad now.
