Why is Jeff Skinner so injury prone?

Is it the way he plays? His size?

Genuinely curious.

Guess it depends on what you mean.

He got his first concussion because he was a young player, probably feeling a little overconfident after his rookie year, and he was skating around with his head down, attempting to dipsy-do around players that will play the body willingly. His second concussion happened for essentially the same reason. To his credit, he's gotten much better at both avoiding and taking hits.

If you mean his current injury, it's a wrist injury. Has nothing to do with his previous injury history. Looked like be tweaked it taking a shot, with a possible link to a slash he took up high earlier in the season

Some people just get injured more than others.

I know that I was always hurt playing sports growing up. Nothing I could really do. Just happens.

Didn't drink enough milk as a kid?

I'm not sure what answer you expect. People are unique, and some people are just a bit more vulnerable to injuries.

It probably doesn't help that he isn't the biggest guy playing a physically demanding sport, and he doesn't shy away from going to the dirty areas.

His injury right now is his wrist, he's never really been injured other than the concussions before.

His first two injuries? Size and experience combined with a tendency to not know when to give up on a play and just get off on a change.

This injury? Nothing. You can't avoid wrist injuries if it just pops up. It just happens.

This is a thread about Skinner not the Canucks as a whole.

This current injury is completely unrelated to his past ones. He's actually seemed to have better awareness this year probably due to experience but this is just his wrist/arm.

Probably just like you spend too much time admiring how clever you think you are. Skinner trains harder than 99% percent of the NHL. That and his hockey IQ are the only reason why he's a premier offensive player in the league.

It makes you admire the Sedins a bit over the fact that they are supposedly soft as hell according to standards yet barely ever injured
