Henrik's ironman streak is slightly cheapened by him playing the one shift and then sitting the rest of the game last season. I understand wanting to rest for the playoffs and I understand not wanting to end your streak but I think you should pick one or the other.
And Bouwmeester only played 47 of 48 games last year due to being traded... He missed an entire game in a season yet he still gets credit for being the iron man.

Including playoff games, Henrik Sedin is ahead of Jay Bouwmeester for the ironman streak by almost a full season of games.

Currently, Bouwmeester is at 649 consecutive games dressed (regular season only) and Sedin is at 647 (regular season only). This is as of 1200 EST on the day of this post. These are also the only ironman streaks of 500+ games so far.

Since the start of 06/07, Chris Phillips has missed three NHL games. That's pretty damn impressive. Had he not missed those games, he'd be sitting at 556 consecutive GP.

Anyway, Bouwmeester and H.Sedin are the reining ironmen. Nobody's even close to them, I think.

Cogliano still has yet to miss a game in his NHL career.

Bouwmeester may hold it by one game over Henrik but IMO Henrik's is much more impressive considering all the playoff games that he has played while Bouwmeester has never experienced that type of intensity and pace. Isn't Henrik's longer anyway when you consider playoff games or are the playoff games already included into his total already?

Edit:
Just looked through the thread and technically it is if you count playoff games.

Except he was traded after the Blues game started and before the Flames game started, meaning he was ineliligible to play in wait her game. Meaning his iron man streak stays intact.

Henrik is win. Cuts off part of a broken finger so he can play.

Soft.

All dates are in yyyy-mm-dd. Feel free to doublecheck if you want to, because I mostly looked for bigger gaps in the game logs at Hockey Reference. So some number might be off, I'm not sure.
I was going to reply to this saying that McClement was scratched for a game when he was in Colorado, but that seems a bit moot.

While that might not be a 600+ game streak, that's still pretty damn impressive.

Yeah, Cogliano has an impressive streak going. If he stays healthy*, he'll reach 500 consecutive games this season.

* I'm honestly not trying to jinx him.

47 of 47. You can only miss a game if your scratched or hurt, he was neither.

Personally, I thought it was incredibly cool how they made sure to keep the streak alive when he had no reason to lose it.

Agreed. It's even more impressive when you see how he plays the game. He's definitely a heart and soul type of guy who gives it all. He may not show up on the score sheet much, but he's definitely a catalyst in our success.
