i still think they should've just implemented no-touch icing

the main goal is to avoid injuries anyways and there is no risk of injury at all with no-touch icing. hybrid sucks

I'd rather just go full no touch

They should just go no-touch. Less room for the linesmen to make mistakes, less room for injury.

Fine with me. Seems a good solution actually, and I haven't noticed a slew of blown calls at all.

Not trying to derail this thread, but how many players have been seriously hurt from a collision during a touch-icing play? I can't think of any off the top of my head.

Pitkanen and I think there was another guy fairly recently.

It's way overstated, though. I don't see the league pushing to cut down on guys who incur brain damage and commit suicide by instituting Hybrid Fighting.

I still like the hybrid icing, but it has been called a bit inconsistently so far, and certainly with some confusion.

We should all remember these linesman are being asked to completely conform to a rule they have little to no experience with, expect some hiccups over time. As the season progresses, it will probably be called more consistent, and correctly.

From what I've watched this year, the result of the odd missed call hasn't been particularly game-changing.

Agreed. During a kings game earlier they blew the whistle in error, and dropped the puck at center ice instead of penalizing the Kings for a wrongful icing. As long as they drop it at center and not punish the team that gets called incorrectly I'm fine with it as is.

I got used to it and don't care anymore. Every once in a while there will be a borderline one but it's whatever really
