Beast of the East

It looks like to me that Casselman is the team to beat in this early season. They are the best team in the St Lawrence and Rideau divisions.

Yea if the playoffs were today Casselman or Winchester would walk over the winner of the rideau division imo

Plaschy and Miksik are both good, but I think Miksik is slightly more consistent.

You've already asked. Scouts are suppose to go watch the games not rely on our opinions!!

1997

Joey Laird

I'd add almontes Justin Shimizu to that list. Has the same kind of speed as Laird.

Tam is the most Jr A ready of the group imo

Junau St Germain (16) is also very good for Metcalfe, IMO better than several of those listed.

Best 16/17 year olds

Police Officer: Do you have a list ?

Demons..I think your choice is still undersized for D in the CJ...needs another year of growth. JrB is not even close to JrA when it comes to speed and intensity and daily grind.

Wow, yea for some reason I thought he was a 96.

I agree that Tam looks great as well. He has jr.A speed but like previous posters said he is a little on the small side

I think he's better at this point in the season than Constantine was last year, and Constantine was in the CJ before the year was over

He never quotes anyone when responding, so you have no idea what he's referring to.

It will be fun to watch how the Rideau Division plays out. Athens and Westport should both receive a boost with coaching changes. Gan looks to be the most talented. Can Prescott keep this up? and is Brockville ever going to get healthy?

you said that JR B Hockey is not even close to JR A and say that you are wrong as I was trainer with Winchester and also watched JR A and we had many JR A players and I find that EOJHL is a great brand of Hockey.

Jr. B is not even close to Jr.A in any way. Jr.A is faster and more physical.

There are only a handful of players each year that make the jump and rarely are they difference makers....Weegar is the last I can think of.

Jr.B does serve as a good developing area for players who get overlooked or grow up playing AA or lower tho. Often the top players in Jr.B are former Jr.A players who couldnt move on to a higher level.

Brand of Hockey

I did not say the EOJHL is not a good brand of hockey. I love it and have been taking in games for several years. Having said this, the Jungle is not, and I repeat is not the CJHL and is not even close. Not sure when you watched some Jr A games the last time HawksFanForever but by the sounds of it, it has been a while.

You can't even begin to compare Jr A and Jr B. Two different levels of hockey.

and you all must be habs fans and yes I have watched JR A and found it never had the hitting that JR B has.

Most Jr B rinks are small, players basically run into each other, plus there is the allusion of big hits since some of players not as stable on their skates. At Jr A more skilled players with heads up. I enjoy watching both.

Any team in the CCHL would absolutely school any team in the EOJHL.

Example: Max Veronneau was the best player in the Jr. B league down the stretch last year. This year he's been close to invisible with Gloucester in Jr. A. It's due to the physicality of the league, and the much better defensive play from all teams. This acts as a good gauge for level of play.
