I'm watching the TB-Bos game and Stamkos looks like he busted his ankle or leg....Looks really ugly.........
This is bad news for team Canada if it is busted

Looks more like a broken tibia than an ACL injury

They'll be looking for a stopgap. Bergy, get on the phone.

Seriously, wishing Stamkos a prompt recovery. I don't care what sweater they're wearing, hate to see anyone get hurt.

The way it happened and the way the leg bent... I think his season is over.

You have to watch in slo-mo first to grasp the gravity of the bent, but you have to watch full speed to really get a feeling of how bad this is.

I hate seeing this happen to a top hand like Stamkos. Tremendous blow to Tampa Bay and Team Canada.

I doubt it's only broken bones. His leg bent so far back I think his heel hit his butt cheek on the opposite side. Has to be ligament and or muscle damage.

That Stamkos injury looks so painful. Reminds me of the 80's when nets were basically anchored in the ice, had 0 give and were automatic fractures anyone crashed into them. I'm puzzled on how it didn't move more in Stamkos' case.

Not a chance.

Tibial fracture are an average of 35 weeks for return to sports time in athletes and 40 weeks if both tibia and fibula are broken. 50% of athletes don't return to previous level of play with a higher chance of reccurence of a similar injury.

10-14 weeks time recovery for full cast, non displaced fracture (which I doubt is the case here) not including rehab.

He's done.

His left leg takes the net off and then his right leg slams into the post and snaps back like a sling-shot.......very ugly

Yeah...seems like it... too bad..

looking at his stats throughout the years, ..its just sickening how TB can be so lucky drafting these kids .. Hard to believe Stamkos is younger than even Eller and hes got 409 NHL points

The funny thing about Stamkos is that even though he was a 1st overall pick, he was never projected to be THAT good. IIRC he was supposed to be similar to Nugent-Hopkins. Not a Top 10 NHLer, just one that hovered around a PPG and gave solid two-way play.
