Btw, I have no agenda against Kreider. Just saying that if he wants to play dirty he has to back it up, and not go hiding.
Dirty? Get a clue. You have no agenda against Kreider. Very funny.

I have no issue with the hit. There is a price to play when you take liberties with Rangers players.

What Kreider will learn is there is a time and place for that in the future, the last couple of minutes of a 1 goal game is not the place nor the time. But I like the fact that he stood up for Stepan and I bet his teammates felt the same way based on the reaction after the game.

I can't find the video, but I wish somebody took out that little weasel Lars Eller when he dumped Hagelin last year after the whistle. Still hoping somebody pays him back.

Here is the Larry column

Quote:
Kreider has played with a jagged edge since rejoining the Rangers in Philadelphia on Oct. 24 after opening the season in Hartford. The combination of his speed, size, strength and skill has turned him into a menacing figure on the ice. There’s a ferocity to his game that has played a significant role in his team’s transformation.

He is so strong that he takes a pound of flesh whenever he finishes a check. Opponents on the receiving end — and otherwise—have taken exception. Wednesday at the Garden, Sidney Crosby responded to a check with angry words. Thursday in Columbus, it was James Wisniewski and Fedor Tyutin. Sunday, after Kreider was assessed a bogus charging penalty in the first period for taking out 18-year-old Aleksander Barkov, Florida’s Sean Bergenheim yapped at Kreider on his way to the box.

“I guess he was just trying to stick up for a young player,” said Kreider. “I would do the same thing.”

(Uh, like he kind of did on Sunday.)

Those guys Larry mentioned are going to drop the gloves and fight. OK.

It has been such a transformation that you wonder exactly what facilitated it.

I don't think I've ever seen a player turn the corner so quickly.

If that is the case, then you should choose your words more carefully. Cause your next phrase is dubious, he plays dirty and he hides?

I don't believe he plays dirty and I don't believe he was hiding.

It was a dumb penalty for Kreider to take

The people calling the play dirty are overreacting just a tad. Only looks dirty because of the results. Players cross check each other all the time

Anyone have a YT? I didn't think it was a very bad hit last night when I saw it live. I want to see it again.

Did Larry steal my words?

At least we agree, and I'm not the only one who see it that way.

Sooner or later Kreider will have to fight, then lets see what he can do. If he gets destroyed, dont blame me for not warning him.

But...he's built like a tank. For all I know, despite his lack of fighting experience, he may handle himself pretty well.

Wisniewski fights sometimes but is not someone really to be afraid of.

Kreider is a big strong guy about as wide as a door and faster than just about everybody. He's really a freak. If he had real edge and more skill then he'd just about be Eric Lindros. I like the way Chris is playing--instead of the east-west stuff it's more direct line north-south. No problem with his running over the top of Upshall. He's figured out that he can use his size and strength to his advantage. Being a college guy and out of prep school he's never been involved in a fight but the way he's playing it's not always going to be Crosby, Wisniewski and Tyutin that comes gunning for him. Not sure how well he'd be able to handle himself if he ran into someone who can fight. We might find out soon.

His own version...

He keeps lying about it, thats not necessary...in my way, he says

But he's not a very good actor though, been a long time since I've seen such a false innocent looking face

If Upshall doesn't hit his head on the boards and die trying to get on the bench no one's calling that anymore than a cheap cross check

Or a truck.
I agree that he will eventually have to answer the bell one of these days. Mash is an exceptional fighter, maybe he can learn from him.

That's not even a cross check

He shoved him right in his chest and since Kreider is a freak of nature he almost killed him

Hilarious that he said it was an accident lol
Ps he says that to protect himself from shanaban

Zero problem with it it's called sticking up for a teammate

Everybody wants to say the right thing here but I love it. As effective as Kreider's game is becoming it's worth the confrontation that is certainly coming. I'm a little worried but not too much.

Sure doesn't look like "blasting a helpless Upshall" as Brooks wrote in his article. Uncle Larry needs to stick to reporting, his editorializing always borders on the sensational and is often times inaccurate.

This and i think the term is a "forearm shive". Solid, just bad timing.

Protecting his teammate. For years we've been complaining that nobody sticks up for the stars, now we finally have one who does. Let's not judge him for this. Be happy we have someone who acts rather than just ignores these things.

I know it looks bad, but that's because Upshall hits his head while falling. Big deal. This should be a message for goons not to mess with our top players.
