Coderre is a grade A ahole. I think DD sucks right now but would never ever say that as a mayor of a major city. No class at all but no surprise coming from the Libs. I saw DD play in Winnipeg this year and it was his best game. Not sure why he could not play like that more often.

I am starting to feel sorry for him, money or not, he is going through some tough times.
This is all relying on Brière's performance at center. If it turns out well, Desharnais fate's.

I agree with you but even I was on Gomez's case. Not as bad as some but that contract wasn't pretty. DD's not looking good but not even half of Gomez's cap and cap should be going up. Still, HFboards tends to be overly critical or overly hyped for players. There's rarely inbetween.

I'm leaning on the side that P.K is bothered by the treatment of others on this team, I think he's pissed.

That still cracks me up

DD should be sent down to the AHL. Maybe he can start producing again and uild up some confidence.

Giuliani commented on the Yankees a lot, but he wasn't the one to dump on one player. It was a no no by the mayor.

As Coderre goes back in line for 4th's, he quietly hums "Ole, ole, ole.....ole, ole"

And Rob Ford always asks for a straw when he orders Coke.

Hey I know, since you like counting so much... lets count how many times the Anglo community demonstrated/picketed when we have had a French coach over the years? That would be ZERO. How long did it take for the french community to get all riled up when we had Randy Cunneyworth as head coach? 1 Day. How does that math look so far? It IS an issue.

The truth is, most don't want to come here, and you know it. If they did, we would have 2 lines easily fulfilling the quota genpop wants. DD benefited from having the right name, at the right time. I don't blame him, he cashed in.

Why on earth would they jump at signing Briere? A player who rejected this team in his prime, but suddenly they sign him to a silly contract that not even a Vegas Casino would have given odds of a successful delivery on his end? Oh right, there's that french thing again... coming in handy when it matters.

I think this team needs a certain french element, it makes sense. It is part of the team's history and identity. But to sacrifice the good of the team to (what I feel) go out of the way to treat the french players differently? That's bush league, and I'm starting to notice it. Am I wrong? Maybe? I saw what I saw... DD was being coddled on the bench where I see P.K or Gallagher/Galchenyuk getting scolded for that same horrible play.

I'm glad they are keeping this thread open, because it's not many times a french-canadian can speak out towards this team, from another point of view.

I didn't expect one. I still think it's a fact regardless of what people think. I'm not a francophone but there's no mercy with our French players. None.

It's too much. People are trying to balance the scales of the idiocy that fake fans bring forth like the Cunneyworth situation.

Simple fact though, many believe "francophones" want a French coach and they protest and yada yada. Majority of habs board is francophones, speaking English and I've heard what, less than 1% agree to such lunacy.

There's are some things people request, homegrown talent is always a plus and so on and so forth but I've seen few say "I want a French team" and more say "I don't care where they are from".

It's a fallacy and this lie keeps spreading. A small minority does not represent the majority. In some cases, the minority has their reasons. The number of full scale extremists are few and far between, many of which aren't true fans to begin with.

Yet...the players suffer from people trying to tip the scales over this nonsense. Well...suffer is a strong word. Guys like Desharnais are playing terrible hockey. Players like Boullion are just not utilized correctly.

I should point out i'm an Anglophone and I also get annoyed of the French-English debate but this isn't black and white. Not everything revolves around it. Sometimes you just sign a depth player who wants to be here. Why does he want to be here? It's his home. Prust joined the habs primarily because of the offer and his wife being from here. It's just normal.

A few people protested and you claim that the "French" (for the record, we're not French and haven't been for centuries) community got riled up? Grow up.

A few people don't represent a community. They were a bunch of loud *******s and they got tired of protesting very quickly.

I think people are a little too sensitive, making a huge thing out of nothing.
I don't expect the players or coach to act differently, I mean, it doesn't matter how bad one player is, they will stick up for one another. But the fans are making it such a big thing when they were all saying the same thing.
