They make such good trade bait.

Not as important as a stick to the old eyeball.

McArdle and Gangner can skate, while Maxwell still can't. So really, its not a big surprise at all, especially on the bigger ice surface.

Thanks for the report.

I think Carle will be in the NHL much faster than Fishcher. And, have a much better career. Another year where our second round pick may end up being better first rounder. Anybody following the Q this year will notice how Carle has developed. Among the league leaders in scoring for d-men, recently named Q defensive player of the month. Carle is +21 already this year. He was underrated partly because his first 3 seasons in the Q he played for a terrible team in Acadie-Bathurst. This year they are much better.

Fischer is only #5 d-man on Gophers. Scored like 3 points this season and has not developed as expected. On the third defense pairing and has just 3 assists in 20 games. That isn't exactly setting the NCAA on fire as a freshman. Just for fun compared to a non-offensive d-man like Komisarek, who had 16 points in 40 games as a freshman and his forte was size and defensive play. Neither which Fischer has.

The upside I see in Fischer...in four/five years....a future Tom Kurvers. Carle could be scary good(for a third rounder). Can't compare him to anybody yet.

He was traded shortly afterwords to Hartford. I was referring to his lifestyle.

Funny how you want to get rid of Chipchura because he's "slow". He's easily faster than Latendresse, yet you don't want to trade him. Only 20 and he's captain of a team with 30 year olds, first season too, and not a bad one at that production wise.

From what I know, I don't think he's that slow either, he can turn on the jets if he wants to, he just plays a positional and smart game as opposed to a fast one.

I am pretty sure Chipchura is not the captain of the bulldogs!

Pretty sure you're wrong. He was named captain at the end of last season.

Chipchura is gonna be on the Habs next year. He has size and his skating has improved a lot judging by the rookie camp. He competes hard and has good size. Very good draft pick imo.

O'Byrne will be ready either next year or the year after as well.

We have tons of prospects now, and a lot of them are going to make the NHL.

At some point we're going to pull a trade and bring a stud in here I'm thinking.

No clue where you get this from but Chipchura is not wearing the C. He's not wearing a letter and the Dogs don't have a Captain this year. Last year's C went to Dan Smith and I know that Chipchura never wore a letter last year. This year Ferland, Jancevski and Baines usually wear the A's, no idea when they will name a Captain.

Interesting to see that it was a coin flip between Price and Staal. A few of us had Staal as the darkhorse 5th overall pick.

Having fun with counter-factuals, one can only wonder whether the Habs would have made a Johnson for Staal swap when the former was available this year.

I'm not a maxwell fan, but skating is one of his forte's, along with good hands. Just lacking some strength and grit, which might be coached into him yet......

Perahaps you should watch him several times with your eyes open. One thing Maxwell is without a doubt is an excellent skater.

Onre scout I've recently talked to compares him to Patrick Marleau.

Kopitar's English was pretty fine already though.
