lol. ya, didn't last long. In retrospect I still don't think you shouldn't make that post before the season starts, but ya, 20 games in. Clearly it is time to plan the tank.

Still don't think we draft in the bottom 5 though.

Normally I'm not one to jump on defenceman at #1 but #1 dman... They're just so damn hard to find that I think Ekblad is worth the gamble on.

I don't claim to have watched any of the draft picks but he puts up offense where Larsen didn't.

Who are the defencemen from this draft that really have a shot at becoming a #1?

Honestly, given our needs this doesn't seem like a bad year to be bad.. Reinhart would be a great fit because he's got good size, he's right handed, he would play behind Nugent-Hopkins and be the smart, reliable play me in all situations kind of #2 center which is really what we need. He's also not afraid to muck it up from what I've gathered. And of course, Ekblad if he's there you can't possibly say "no" to. The generational defenseman that we have been dying for since Pronger left. Heck, if we're not in a position for either of them we're looking at a lot of other players that fill needs as far as position and size.

C, Michael Dal Colle (6'2 180 - big, good hands, smart defensively)
C/LW, Leon Draisaitl (6'1 200 - power center/winger with great IQ)
RW, Nick Ritchie (6'2 205 - future power forward)
LW, Jake Virtanen (6'1 190 - future power forward)

A lot of guys with great size and edge to their games. They aren't just one-dimensional offensive studs like the guys we have drafted in the past. They bring a lot more which is exactly what we need to look for.

No first overall will do an ounce of good on a team completely devoid of vets who can play hockey. No free agents will sign here however after this year, not like any did anyway. Well ****.

Terribad for Ekblad

'Play like Shart for Reinhart'
'Suck it bad for Ekblad'
'Play Blander for Nylander'

Thinking of a rhyme or pun for next year:
McSuck for McDavid

My favorite tank phase is "Breaking Ekblad"
  • EDM has progressively become worse and worse
  • EDM will probably break Ekblad
  • Pop culture reference

Do it. Trade it for peanuts, I'm sick of being rewarded for failure. I don't want to ruin another prospects future either

So how good is this McDavid? Is he actually as good as Crosby?
He only has 5 goals in 19 games

I don't think anyone is as good as Crosby... even Crosby might not be as good anymore.

McDavid is VERY good... remains to be seen what his ultimate ceiling is of course but closest to a generational prospect since Crosby is the general consensus.

The only thing is "Breaking bad" means doing something that isn't the usual.

Sucking and drafting 1st overall definitely isn't unusual for this team.

Breaking Bad (v.)
1. to challenge convention
2. to defy authority
3. to raise hell

Breaking Blad (v.)
1. to fail in failure
2. from the saying "how can things possibly be worse"... to possibly be worse
3. to ruin Ekblad's career before it begins.
