What a head scratcher. Beck played well. Wish we could get Beck and Forsberg on a line together in the NHL but Hendricks is taking that spot

we could, waive/trade hendricks and try to get a 7th for him. Who cares...that'd be 1.8 mill of uselessness off our books.

Hendricks is playing a purely 4th line role ... the type spot that everyone complains about if filled by Forsberg or Beck.

Spaling generally "plays up" in a top 9 role as replacement C, in the current case, for Fish. He's our "talented" (as opposed to Clune) permascratch when we're healthy.

Nystrom has, unfortunately, been pretty effective and without Fish, I'm afraid we kinda' need a little of his physical presence on some of the top lines. I'm guessing when all healthy and FF a bit more consistency Nystrom will be skating with Goose and Hendricks.

You know based on that observation, I seem to remember the Blues in 1988-1991 having Sergio Momesso (http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/p...y.php?pid=3771) on the same line as Brett Hull and Adam Oates. Momesso had a knack of agitating and allowing the ice to open up for Hull and Oates en route to gaudy offensive numbers. I was wondering if Hendricks was placed on a higher line if he would not agitate and open up some ice for the younger guys to get all of them going? I mean didn't Hendricks play on a line with Ovi a bit?

Caps fan here. How's Forsberg doing this year? How's Matty Hendricks doing? I loved Hendricks on the Caps, one of my favorite players, but I was absolutely shocked at the contract he got. As much as I like Hendy Face I thought it was one of the worst contracts I've ever seen.

Erat has been fantastic since Oates bumped him up to the top line. He's been one of our best forwards. Latta has been great as well. He's a perfect 4C. Looks like the trade was good for both teams.

forsberg has the offensive skills. defensive game needs polishing for sure. he will be a top 6 guy in the next year or 2.

hendricks is the whipping boy around here. his contract is just horrendous. id ship him out for peanuts.

When I saw on Twitter that Hendricks signed with you guys, I had to read the release on his contract about 10 times. In my head the conversation went something like this: "Ah bummer, Hendy is gone. At least it's not to NYR or Pittsburgh -- I can root for him in Nashville. 4 years? Really? Wow. Probably for like 950 per, maybe 1 mil... wait, 1.8? For 4? You kidding? Must be a typo. 1.8 million dollars. 4 years. For Matt Hendricks. Unreal. Enjoy that contract, Preds fans. Yikes. Hope you get in a lot of shoot outs."

Hopefully FF can help with your scoring woes. Want Troy Brouwer? We need a LD. Got anyone you want to trade?

We could trade Hendricks for a chair for Trotz. And then we can go tell Trotz to SIT ON IT.

(Bonus points for those of you old enough to get the reference.)

He'd be worth 600k solely on shootouts but your coach doesn't use him.

Game would have to be close enough to actually get us into overtime for that to happen.

Are Forsberg and Beck gonna see action. Or is this a carousel like it first was with Mazanek and Hellberg until Hutton was gassed from playing six or seven in a row
