Yah.. no way EDM is offering this much for a player.

Yakupov + Gagner + Klefbom + 2nd in 2015/Marincin ? Perhaps the 1st in 2015 could be included. Would like to see EDM get Gaustad though.

If there's a chance to get him at a semi reasonable cost, you do so. Players of his caliber are not available very often. I'm not sure I'd do Eberle, Ganger and a 1st... but I think there's definitely a deal to be made between the two teams.

As an Oil fan, I'd do Hall+Eberle+Klefbom. I would hope that is acceptable. Don't see it happening until the off-season (before the next bonus instalment for Weber).

Sign Phaneuf and we finally have a top pair.

Something around RNH. If RNH isn't included, then Weber is probably not the D to go after, though Preds fans may feel differently.

I would imagine you can be very sure the Oilers wouldn't involve Hall or Nugent-Hopkins in a Weber trade.

Such a good player but a 13 year contract at that salary is frightening.

Nashville has no reason to trade their best player with a 13 year contract unless one of yours is coming back.

RNH and Hall are the best of your top 4 so at least one has to be coming back. We then need a defenseman who can put up 20-25 minutes a night without looking like crap.

After that we'd just be dealing with our wants, young forwards, high end prospects and firsts.

I'm not saying Nashville has any reason to. I'm saying if it involves one of those two players, the Oilers have very good reason not to.

From an Oiler perspective, if a trade for Weber ever did occur, I'd be very surprised if it included one of those two players.

I'd be more scared of losing your top players to UFA while they are in their prime. Trust me, I know how it feels.

I think the most the Oilers would be willing to part with would be Yakupov + Gagner + Schultz + 2014 1st rounder. The winner of the trade would depend on how Yakupov pans out. And also how high that 2014 1st rounder is. I mean, if it's Ekblad...

3 Weber deals:
  • Weber for Hall + Marincin
  • Weber for Nuge + Klefbom
  • Weber + Gaustad (mostly cap reasons) for Eberle or Yakupov + Gagner + 2014 1st round pick + 1 additional conditional 1st round pick if we make the playoffs anytime in the next 3 years.
Weber for Nuge + Klefbom sound pretty good.I think if both teams throw in their 1st rd picks than it's a slam dunk deal.

Weber + Nas 2014 1st for Nuge + Klefbom + Edm 2014 1ST

I'm still a fan of Weber for Eberle + Gagner + Klefbom. I'd even throw in a 2nd there.

Nashville needs a goalie, they should either sign one, or try to see if they can get a guy who's playing exceptionally well in the minors or something like that for cheap. The Leafs would give up Drew MacIntyre for practically nothing, and while he has sucked in the NHL, he has played exceptionally well in the AHL, and on a minor league swap, he could very well be worth a shot. If worst comes to worst, he's sent to the AHL as a mentor and dominates there. I don't think Nashville wants a Halak or a Reimer or something like that, so a MacIntyre or someone like that could work quite well.

I just can't seebthe Oilers giving up Hall. I understand we have to give up talent and I think it would be eberle going the other way along with Gagner, klefbom and another prospect.

Of course you are, you are getting a top3 defender in the world for a good winger, a 2nd line center and a decent prospect.

Oilers want Weber... Going to cost them one of Hall, RNH or Yak. And then add (depending on the piece)

Yak + Nurse + 2014 1st + Klefbom would be what i would ask for if i am Nashville.

Keeps Edmonton's core, gives Nashville a great base for rebuilding. Both teams win.

And Arcobello plays a smart game and has developed chemistry with other forwards in the Oilers line up, and he wins faceoffs, so he could fill the second line center role quite nicely.

For once I agree with a Canucks fan lol

Hall-RNH-Yakupov
Perron-Arco-Hemsky

there would be a hole made by Eberle going, but the 1st rounder could help address that
Fixed that for you.

That package should get you Weber alone, if we ever move Weber we shouldn't be adding anyone significant back with him. We'd need a defenseman coming back too.

Put in RNH or Hall instead of Gagner and Eberle.
