Was Moulson ever waived or did they just let him walk in the off-season?

Around 30-goalscorer in every full NHL season he has played.

He was. But was put on waivers, and sent to the minors in 2005.

Nashville drafting Matt Hendricks in the fifth round I believe, letting him walk then signing him in the offseason to a 4 year deal while more than doubling his salary from the year before. Can you say severe overpayment for a fourth line type? Couple that with Gaustad being on a 4 year deal for almost 3 and a half million a season. Can't decide which is worse.

For Chicago. The worst I can think of is Craig Anderson

But it's hard to say anything bad when he moved around like crazy before realizing his potential

What Vancouver did was actually even worse. They traded Grabner and a 1st rounder for Keith Ballard and his horrendous cap hit.

Has no one in this thread nominated DiPietro's albatross contract?

Wang's lifetime deal to Ricky D hamstrung the organization for years. They had a huge % of their payroll tied up in a guy who was always either hurt or ineffective, and they could never pull the trigger on getting a goalie because they had so much invested in DiPi.

In fact, if you include Yashin's record-breaking (at the time) contract, you could very well make a case that "Allowing Charles Wang To Be Involved In Contract Negotiations" is the biggest mistake by a team.

And somewhere in that top-10 list of "biggest mistakes by a team", you might also have "Giving Control Of Your Franchise to Mike Milbury".

... oh, Islanders. Thankfully those years are past you guys now, and you look primed to be an annuall playoff team and possibly a cup contender, with just a few more good moves.

If it makes it any better, I own both a Mike Bossy AND a Denis Potvin jersey?

Grabs has been bad this year. Bad enough to wind up on waivers again, he is not careful!

If you read through the thread you would know:

A. The answer to that question.
B. What the thread was about and avoid looking silly.

Well, clearly I didn't do that. I thought that was made fairly obvious.

I find it amazing they wanted a big return, but when the Coyotes and other teams refused, they just gave him up.

@ Grabner/canucks people

He played an AHL calibre training camp/preseason lol. He had like zero value other than a throw in. A first for a top four puck moving dman which Ballard was at the time wasn't even that bad.

Now in hindsight, you think o wut da f, but it's hindsight for a reason.

Boston signed Hendricks in 2007 and then traded him a year later to Colorado for Johnny Boychuk.

Pat Quinn put Steve Sullivan on waivers in 1999, he was subsequently picked up by Chicago, and he eventually went on to have a lengthy, productive career in the NHL with Nashville.

An absolutely brutal waste of an asset.

EDIT - Someone beat me to it, LOL.

No, Moulson was allowed to walk via free agency. He struggled a bit with the club, especially with Terry Murray.
