Yea, the scratch is a bit suspicious with both Morris and Michalek out of the lineup inured.

My guess is a trade to Ottawa will be announced after the Game tomorrow afternoon. Would be surprised if Michalek is the return though. At least that's what I'm hoping for.

The only defensemen we have are shut down D. Anymore and we'll have to start shipping them to Utica.

We are not actively looking for any defensemen, but if we were going to get one, it would ONLY be that one specific kind and quality. So to say we are looking for "defensemen" generically, or Klesla specifically, is wrong.

I disagree, but whether or not that is true is irrelevant. We already have 7 defensemen playing some nights, and technically Liles and Brennan are also NHL defensemen playing for the Marlies.

We can't take him, let alone give up assets for him.

Could definitely see something based around Michalek and Klesla

Would definitely explain why the Sens are looking for a top 6 forward for Spezza (the role Michalek currently occupies)

Can't see the Coyotes trading him to a team in the Western conference. They're not going to help strengthen their competition unless it's worth their while. He's likely headed to the East.

Don't think Milan is coming to PHX without retention and a lot of it.

Wing, preferably left. Shooter or passer who isn't a liability defensively.

I guess it's possible that they could move someone like Moss or Korpedo in a separate deal for a pick or prospect. That would bring the difference from Milan to Rusty's pay close to budget.

Doesn't seem likely, but I guess it's possible. The PK has continued to struggle.

Nik Kulemin?

Hes struggling offensively but is as sound defensively as they come. Played LW successfully before. Likely would excel in PHX's system.

I contemplated Raymond as well, mainly because I dont see any way we re-sign him this summer, but the salaries dont work out. We cant take much more of a cap hit.

For the record, that exactly describes Milan Michalek.

Klesla sits for a game, probably a minor bruise. With 11 deep at 'D' (I get to include Connor Murphy now), there is no reason to play Klesla if he isn't at 100%.
Klesla sat out for Schlemko, not Rundblad or Murphy. Tippet likes to pair a lefty with a righty. Runblad and Murphy was in for Michalek and Morris (Stone was the other righty) and they responded well, but I don't think it means that the Coyotes are shopping Klesla. But they may feel more comfortable trading Michalek or Morris in the future.

According to last night's CBC Hot Stove, the Nucks may be talking trade with the Panthers for Shawn Matthias.

He didn't have a bad game and he was clearly a healthy scratch, unless he pissed off Tip with his attitude and not his play. Tip plays vets period, this is unusual. I think he is likely gone before Thursdays game with Colorado.

We would trade for it, and would send a defenseman back with it. Kulemin could play top 6 in some cases, and so could Raymond, and they're both FA's next year. We would also throw in a defenseman kicker, especially since right now you're injured there. What if we did something like Kulemin, Fraser/Holzer/Brennan and Lasch (just for a small little bit of added value) for Klesla?

DT wouldn't bench a vet like Klesla just because of a bad game. For some it may seem like no big deal, but dressing so many young players (23, 23, 22, 20, 26, and 27) is not something he likes to do. Even more surprising was that Murphy played 22 minutes, third behind only Yandle and OEL.

Either way, Murphy looked fantastic.

Mich and Mo being out is what I meant more so by timing, but you definitely said it much better than me!

I agree, usually if there's a need for a defenseman, and he's a good defenseman, there's a possible trade coming up, or there's something that we don't really know about, which is unlikely.
