What would you call THIS line:

"[Gainey] stupidly allowed himself to be influenced by fans who wanted to see a native tender 19-year-old who can't skate, pass or score make the team over blue-Chipchura prospects"

For those of you who think I was serious, it's only because there are SO MANY doubters and haters posting here that it may have seemed like I was just a wee bit further out, but in the same boat as those guys.

However, the paragraph on Gainey's moves should have given it away. I mean, would anyone in their right mind trade (four-team deal?) Koivu, Ryder, Higgins and Huet for Fedorov, Forsberg, Nieuwendyk (retired) and Leclair (released)???

the people who took it seriously, probably didn't get that far into your post.

All they saw was "lucky win" and that was enough to get em' going.

btw I really liked the "blue-chipchura" line. I'll most likely refer to him as Blue from now on.

I was referring to the play in the first period, which if ruled a goal would have put the Sabres up 2-0.

But, yes, of course I was being ironic!

Example: "The third goal would never had happened if Steve Begin hadn't been hurt"

Well, it's the people's fault, then.

Seriously, it was a good sarcastic post, in which you're not so sure it's sarcasm from the start, but when you read down, it's becoming more and more clear...

Those who didn't understand/read until the end and posted hatred comments should be banned to the Leafs board for a week.

The Habs' first goal came off the rebound of a horribly missed shot, the second goal off a REALLY lucky deflection from no angle, the third goal would never have happened if Steve Begin hadn't been hurt, the fourth goal was another lucky deflection and the fifth goal came immediately after what should have been a penalty to the Sabres for illegal contact with another Sabres player.

Furthermore, the Sabres would have won easily if not for many flukey saves by the Montreal goalie who was one of the two throw-ins in the Mathieu Garon giveaway; the other throw-in in that deal, Radek Bonk, is fortunate to be playing well in his contract negotiation year.

Speaking of negotiations and the General Manager, Bob Gainey clearly is very lucky to get the results he is getting considering that he shouldn't have fired Claude Julien, miscalculated in acquiring Alexei Kovalev, Sergei Samsonov, Mike Johnson and Garth Murray, blundered in the Ninimaa trade, gave away Richard Zednik, Jose Theodore, and Pierre Dagenais, let last year's only four-goal-in-a-game scorer, Jan Bulis, go to the rival Canucks, and stupidly allowed himself to be influenced by fans who wanted to see a native tender 19-year-old who can't skate, pass or score make the team over blue-Chipchura prospects.

To keep from falling out of the playoff race, Gainey should immediately trade Koivu, Higgins, Ryder and Huet for Fedorov, Forsberg, Nieuwendyk and Leclair. Then at least we'd have a shot at 8th place.
made my day dude...

Maybe he was being sarcastic also.

Even as a Sabres fan, I was almost choking after the first sentence. It is a funny post. If he is taking a good shot at the naysayers (who seem to be present in every teams fanbase), you should see them coming out on our board.

Good game last night by the Habs. Sabres started strong, and if they could have burried the second one before you scored it could have been a different game. Your special teams are really strong, and you kept scoring the timely goals, with Huet making the timely saves. That is a perfect recipe for winning.

Cant wait until these teams play again.

I was looking at the Hamilton stats and Blue seems to be doing well!
