Montreal needs a top 6 sniper with size(or at the very least grit), few untouchables.

Brouwer isn't exactly your prototypical sniper but he is big body, year after year among hit leaders in the league and if he gets to play in his spot on Habs PP i can see him scoring 25 goals.

He is also very good on the PK, averaging 2nd most minutes among Caps forwards and they have 2nd best PK on the league.
And once again, the Habs can't afford to trade away Gorges without a suitable replacement. I do like Brouwer though, but it can't be for Gorges, unfortunately.

No and... no way! That was easy.

I lol'd IRL. No one on the Nuck's roster interests me enough to trade Galchenyuk. I mean that as no disrespect, but just Gally's upside, combined with our team's future and current needs, it'd take a big plus on top of Edler to interest us.

What would the cost be for Voracek? He's a pretty similar player to Pacioretty and fits the OP quite well.

I don't see Jake being moved given his youth and role, but who knows with Holmgren.

Are there holes/roles that need to be filled in Philadelphia? I've seen Beaulieu mentioned several times.

How about Rene Bourque to WSH for Troy Brouwer?

Jakub Voracek would fit MTL pretty well. He is fast and has good vision and a good shot. Obviously Philly would want something significant coming back.

With MTL having Beaulieu, Tinordi, Pateryn, Nygren, Ellis, Dietz, Thrower all good solid defensemen down the pipe line, I think one of these guys could be in the deal.

So you want a valuable player but all your valuable players are untouchable? Typical HF trade thread I suppose.

They could swap Erskine and Moen.

What about Kreider? He reminds me of Patches and fits the OPs description perfectly.

Eller, Plekanec, Gorges, Emelin, Markov, Beaulieu, Tinordi, Bournival, Bourque, Diaz etc. where all left off the "untouchables" list.

Whether you agree or not, is it too much work to read the OP before commenting?

Jeremy Morin is a sniper, but no room for him in Chicago. He is 22 years old and averaging a point per game in the AHL this season. He had 30G last year in the AHL and is a straight up shooter. His opportunity is now!! Morin has grit can fight and hit. Better fighter than Brouwer and throws harder hits.

He was the 45th pick in 2009 and Chicago would want that type of return. Meaning if your second round pick is #45 overall or better in 2014 that is what it would take to get him plus a 7th rounder.

To Montreal Jeremy Morin

To Chicago 2nd round pick in 2014 or 2015 and 7th round pick in 2014

I'm not entirely familiar with NYR's needs but I remember seeing a proposal to bring in a #2C and I know you don't have much RD depth.

Kreider + Del Zotto

for

Plekanec + Diaz (extended @ 3mil) + ?

again were asking for equal value.. every player has his own value. if we were to offer galchenyuk then we would expect to get a much higher caliber player back for him than we would for someone like eller. same concept applies in regards to eller and plekanec

These are few exemples of teams getting superstar caliber players for a package without necessarily giving up something as valuable as we would've thought..

A sniper with size? That's a tall order for anyone. There a guys with size... and then guys who can finish. But anyone who has both is either expensive in terms of assets or isn't being moved.

yea i know big snipers are rare (but players like stewart and simmonds would fit well on our team, depending on the cost.. simmonds is far from being a sniper tho ), thats why i said "or at the very least gritty players".

someone like oshie comes to mind, im not asking for him specifically but we would like someone that plays a similar style as oshie/gallagher/marchand etc.

If a team offered us a top six winger with grit/big scoring top six winger, I'd deal Pacioretty in a heartbeat.

I'd love Brouwer on this team.
