I'd MUCH rather roll the dice and lose out on a second and fourth rounder for a chance at another Saad.

I speculated a few days ago that he could be a good fit there. What sort of picks prospects do you have that you'd be willing to move? TBH dunno anything about what PIT has in the system

I agree so would I but we just signed Versteeg. The value is there getting a 2nd & 4th rounder though.

You say we have no room for him yet we have Bollig on our 4th line

4th would have to be in 2015 because we traded our 2014 4th.

If we move Morin, I'd like for it to be for a similar caliber prospect on D.

Coach Q hates Jeremy Morin for some unknown reason and would rather have Brad Mills on the roster.

sure that would fill a hole for sure but a similar prospect on defense would be on a NHL roster and that might be a problem

Nope! Montreal would have take Nikolai Khabibulin and absorb his contract.

true thank you for saying that... I clearly over valued Budaj and he could work as a backup, but not worth prospect Jeremy Morin.

Morin has a good amount of value and I've noticed that with better offers coming from Vancouver & Pittsburgh.

I'm sure there's some quality just about NHL-ready D Prospect who is blocked right now out there. I don't know who off-hand. Maybe someone like Joe Morrow? I don't know if Boston would want to do that though.

Chicago has no roster holes to fill that they don't have a plan for and there's no sense in trading a prospect you've developed for 3 years, who's on the cusp of the NHL, for a 2nd round pick.

Morin's the first guy to get called up, and he can play in a variety of roles. Q hardly hates him, but he still hasn't found his consistency at the NHL level.

I could see him taking Ben Smith's spot next year, and moving up and down the roster based on injuries and his play.

In addition to Jeremy Morin.

The Chicago Blackhawks currently have no room whatsoever under the salary cap for the 2013-14 NHL Season. To absorb Budaj's cap hit of $1.4 million, the Chicago Blackhawks have to unload a contract of equal to or greater value.

Bam winning post right there!! Good assessment problem is next year is next year and he is no longer on the entry contract. Hawks need to resign Morin or trade him. Sure they could move Ben Smith back to Rockford. Morin needs a roster spot in Chicago yesterday.

Morin is very chippy plays with grit and I could easily seeing him lose patience with the Blackhawks organization and ask for a trade. They need to get him his 12-13 minutes a game and quit playing Rockford games with him. Chicago should offer him a contract in the next month or two just to let him know that he will be on the big club next season.

Dumoulin for Morin.

Doesn't get any more even than that.

Ben Smith would have to clear waivers which I doubt he would.

The most expendable player on the Chicago Blackhawks roster currently is forward Brad Mills. The second most expendable player on the Chicago Blackhawks roster is Sheldon Brookbank, due to age and salary cap hit.

If Montreal wants Morin that badly, the Canadiens will have to take on Khabby's contract. No ifs, ands, or buts.

that works and is fair value. I'm not super big on trading prospects for prospects. I would prefer keeping Morin... One injury to the Hawks defense and I would be on that deal immediately.

thanks for the reminder Smith wouldn't clear waivers. I could see Brookbank moved in a deadline deal. I actually predict that to happen. Plus Brad Mills will be released or traded but most likely sent to waivers.
