Offer stands at Halak + 1st, 2nd and mid tier prospect for Miller. I will let Armstrong decide which mid tier prospects are available.

I don't consider Carrier a mid tier prospect. Armstrong and co. were clearly very high on him since they traded up to draft him, and signed him right away which isn't very common for second round picks.

I don't either Carrier is having a good season as well. It is thought his stock dropped due to injury last season.

The most I'd give would be something like 1st+3rd+Kurker.

This is far from reactionary but rather coming to a realization that our goaltenders aren't bad but they aren't anything special and is something this club has lacked since the cujo days.

Also scoring so far has no been a problem, yes we were scoring a lot last year but were sacrificing our defense for more offense. This year we are playing great on both ends of the ice but have been lacking good goaltending. As much as people don't want to give up assets, we have plenty of assets without hurting our future. It's not like we are going to have guys retiring or demanding large contracts we can't fit anytime soon. Regardless if you think miller isn't that big of an upgrade (which i personally think he is) he is still an upgrade and i would rather lose a few assets for the future in order to get to the ultimate goal which is the cup.

I mean look how much depth we have now and we have multiple prospects that look great but how are they going to fit in and when? There is a draft, every. Single. Year. We have prospects like jaskin, rattie, carrier, schmaltz, vannelli, hakanpaa, edmundson, allen, binnington in our pipeline and compare that to other cup contending teams prospect pools. We have time to replenish our prospect pool while giving some up.
qft.

Halak + 2 2nds (2014, 2015) + mid prospect is about as high as I would want the Blues to go for a UFA goalie. One of the seconds can be a conditional first if Miller re-signs in the off-season or Blues win the Cup.

Yeah I'd give up Halak and a couple 2nds probably and I think that's fair value. Don't really want to give up another first and definitely not a top prospect as I feel that would be overpaying.

Well this has settled down into some sense.

Miller isn't worth Halák, 1st & 2nd, never mind adding in a decent prospect. Absolutely delusional.

Am ideal trade for St. Louis would be something like Jaroslav Halak, Jordan Schmaltz, and a conditional 2nd (becomes a 1st if Blues if Blues get to the finals/or resign Miller).

So guys, I was thinking... How about Pietrangelo for a 2014 2nd rounder, Steve Ott +?

Joking, joking guys, please don't tear me a new one.

I like this even more, although Buffalo still would have to retain at least 40% of Miller's salary due to the 'note being up against the cap I'll add.

This is great proposal not just another HF's "you are playing GM on the internet. It's not real."

The longer team waits, the more apparent it becomes how crap Halak really is. I mean .900 save % with maybe the best D in hockey while Miller is almost .920 playing behind rookies. These two aren't close, they're not. Give Miller to the Blues and they are a cup team. I admit i don't think he'll resign but if you win, you never know.

How about Tarasenko + Halak + a 2014 1st to Buffalo for Moulson and Miller?

When you see more shots, you will typically have a higher sv%. When you only face shot totals in the low 20s, your sv% will be close to 90 unless you get a shutout or only give up 1 goal.

Miller has been really really solid this year. Absolutely he could be the difference for a team like STL actually going all the way. The deal in the OP would be perfect for the Sabres.

How about no. That is an absolutely terrible deal for the Blues. We've balked at giving up a first and a second for Miller and you want us to add Tarasenko? Seriously?

You can have your pick of: Moen, White or Galchenyuk to make it fair. I'd take White personally.

But seriously, I'd KILL for Tarasenko.

As a Sabre fan, not bad at all. Puts the Blues in a great goaltending situation with Miller at the helm.

The only change I'd like to see is the hands off names mentioned. Jaskin is who I would like to see a deal built around.

Sabres reject. No need for defense prospects

We can always trade D-prospects later though. They might not help us right away, but in a few years when our prospects develope and all we need are veterans from other teams, we trade our excess prospects to rebuilding teams for veterans.
