could he be leant out to a team in europe? ala Huet?
For sure, if all parties were on the same page

Exact same contract. Oilers goaltending at the minor league level seems pretty crowded already. Bachman is a very capable #3.
Asham doesn't do a lot for me. I'd prefer to see if anyone grabs him on waivers. But if no one does, I'd be ok with that trade, and then we'd waive Asham or Jones. Like you said, we have too many crap goalies in the minors and need to clear some clutter.
I've actually liked Labarbera back to his early days with the Kings and wasn't against the signing this summer. He seemed like a decent backup option at the time, but he's been an absolute disaster all year. Hopefully he gets claimed and we can close the book on him completely.
If you are offended by this post, it's probably because you're ugly.
Honestly he was crap for us, but at the same time Bulin got 1.75mil from Chicago because they thought our defense was the reason for his poorer numbers. Doubt he gets claimed, but who the hell knows with how some GM's think.
Another great move by Mactavish finally exposed. For all you guys that are screaming "HE SIGNED PERRON!" hes done way more of these bonehead signings.
I don't think I've seen one person ever claimed he "signed Perron"...
MacTavish made a ton of moves that a lot of us like(d) at some point or another, including this one. It just didn't work out. Everyone, for the most part, was even on board when Acton and Hamilton were signed because we wanted to see if Eakins had an influence on players he was coaching out in Toronto and if they could translate their success with him into the Oilers system.
It's a sign that he is more competent than his predecessors in that he knew Labarbra wasn't working out and removed him immediately, where as Tambo would have rode him out for the entire year, preaching patience and that he will turn it around.
Only move that MacTavish made that most people weren't on board with was the Smid trade, but it's starting to grow on me. Broissot is the huge wild card in who wins this trade in a couple of years.
