I agree with everything in that article and I hope MB kicks his ass to the curb. We've got a ****ing Antichambre clown for a coach, I can't ****ing believe it.

Coaching has nothing to do with Desharnais Pacioretty doing squat and Eller going on a 3 week hiatus. A coach can only do so many things to get players going, at some point they need to do whatever it takes, score a garbage goal or two and get on a hot streak.

Hated him as coach the moment it was announced. But when the team is handicapped and forced to hire a french coach and not the best coach available what do you expect?

"Since the 2011-12 season, Bouillon has played 129:01 with the power play and has collected a single assist during that period. A SINGLE ASSIST."

That can't be real...

''Therrien didn’t like that Briere came to his office to have more playing time and play at center back in October. Since then, the relationship between the two men is tense.''

Is that true? I've never heard anything about that

Pretty sure that assist was against Vancouver this year when Max Pac scored.

If this was in a movie, you would be posting in the movies thread that the movie has a plothole, because no coach would ever be that dumb.

Honestly, I gave the benefit of the doubt to Therrien until recently but I had to come to the evidence that unless he is being told otherwise by Bergevin, he is doing a very poor job with this team and all the points explained in this article are exactly what is wrong with his coaching.

I felt like I was reading HF. Pretty much sums it up the situation though.

I didn't know Briere asked MT to be played at center in October though. Anyone else heard this?

I think I missed this. More info?

Other than that I agree with your article.

They can't even come out of their zone with puck control anymore and when they do, they're instructed to dump and retreive. This is not a team built for that kind of play. No wonder the forwards can't create anything anymore offensively. The coaching staff needs to wake up or else, it's going to be the GM's responsability to do so.

I agree with everything, except the Briere thing. While, yes, Briere is better than Desharnais offensively, both suck in their overall games and do not deserve much ice-time.

He is an idiot. There is no way to sugar-coat it.

He got his chance originally because he is French-speaking, was perceived to have paid his dues in the lower leagues and is a large man with a physical presence, which led to the perception that he is a motivator. He subsequently got a number of opportunities, including the Penguins and this one, because he had prior NHL experience, which compounds the initial mistake. However, there is no substitute for intelligence, and he will never be confused with a tactician. Nor will he ever be associated with anything resembling critical thinking.

While it's true that there are very few coaches that actually think the game, if we were to try to quantify their mental capacities and plot the values on an axis, MT would still end up on the pole coinciding with the most intellectually challenged.

That, to me is the number 1 reason that is at the root of any other shortcoming. At this point, MB is not looking stellar for having picked him.

Judging by this story in the Gazette, it sounds like Patches has major issues with the team's coaching/approach too. And that could explain his uninspiring efforts.

I don't condone going public with it and I don't condone half-assed efforts when you're getting paid big bucks. But I totally agree with him on the sentiment of being aggressive and pro-active offensively. The fans are dying for that.

This is why I rather have Plekanec on the point over Bou Bou. Smarter, better passer, better vision, better shot and responsive defensively. So why not? He cannot be worst than Bouillon. And Plekanec gets skipped often on the PP because the coach has to use our PP specialist in DD.

The guy is a gongshow this year. He was fine last year helping change the culture of the team, but this year its annoying as hell to watch. It seems like oh, max and bourque are producing with briere. Now that their hot, lets slide DD in there and pretend nothings changed. Not to mention the im not going to comment on PK but Carey is the olympic goalie. Just one giant facepalm every time i see anything regarding line match ups.

Better to be a bunch of hyena than a bunch of sheeps. The fans deserve better and they express their thoughts. What's wrong with this?

You don't have to be either a hyena or sheep. Just have to realise it's pointless to hit the same botton over and over of "Therrien sux lolz".

For my part, it's the first time I comment on his bad coaching. But no matter what happened last season, 21 games this year is a pretty good sample of what the season will most likely look like.

Well, for one it's cut my visits to this site by at least half. For some of us who are a bit more...tempered about it I guess it gets old fast. Questioning coaching decisions is one thing, but calling him names and an idiot and acting like he shot your child is completely insane imo. Not to mention it's all you read in here now. Therrien this, DD that. ****ing annoying as ****.
