Adam Hall

What's everyone's opinion of Adam Hall?

He seems to be really good in the faceoffs. He did a fantastic job last night.

Giroux doesn't have the magic on the face off he has had in the past. But Adam Hall seems to have inherited that ability this season.

That we should stick with him. Yeah, the faceoffs are huge but he's also big, tough while still being disciplined (the latter is based on the eye test, not PIM stats) and a kind of calm presence. It seems. And he's a PK:er. Perfect as far as 4th liners go.

Oh, and he can scrap if needed and carries a low cap hit.

All is well.

It's why I wanted them to re-sign him over the summer. It's why I got pissed when he was waived. It's why it made no sense that he was being a healthy scratch. He's not a world-beater, but he's one of the 12 best forwards we have. Without him, they probably wouldn't have felt they were able to make the Talbot-Downie swap.

I think his FO % over the last 3 or 4 games was like 85%, obviously unsustainable, but insane for even that length of time.

Perfect 4C on a team with a deep Top 9. I'm liking what they are doing here, Rinaldo is getting more PK time, hopefully Giroux less.

I am more than pleased with him as of last year and this year. I am thankful nobody grabbed him off of waivers which I thought was crazy to begin with.

Yeh, definitely unsustainable... but he has an impressive track record on faceoffs!

12-13: 56.2% (251 taken)
11-12: 59.5% (464 taken)
10-11: 55.0% (655 taken)

I really like him... I used to think when he was at Nashville he could become 40 point 20-20 guy... he was awesome as a big body on the PP for them when he was at NSH. He hasn't became that, but he is an absolutely fantastic 4th line centre and great Pker.

Obviously he never became the player that he projected to be after the draft but he has found his role as a gritty 4th line PK specialist.

Just the type of player everyone loves on the 4th line.

He is the guy the Flyers need on the 4th with a great cap hit. Hustles, plays great defense, PKs. Good player to have.

I would like to see Hall resigned for next year. His FO ability is great and helps establish puck possession.

I'll say this. He is literally the best 4th liner in the league. He doesn't score the most but he is the best.

1. He is Cheap
2. Best faceoff guy in the league
3. Great Pker
4. Great Teammate
5. Can play 10 minutes a night

What more do you want from your 4th line?

I would have to imagine Laughton will be the 4th line center next year but they could always bring him back as a winger & use his faceoff ability in big defensive situations at even strength.

He's not a heavy weight but he'll drop them as well, decreasing the need for one of our top 9 guys like Hartnell or Simmer to drop them. I know that's not a very popular aspect of the game on this board but some times it is necessary.

he deserves to stay based solely upon the fact he looks like Chris Pronger..

Exactly...all of this. He needs to re-signed for another year. Doing that allows Laughton to not have to take on PK responsibilities right away assuming he makes the team. GREAT use of $600,000!!!

I would say there's a 99% chance he won't be in the NHL next year.

If the Flyers sign him (which they haven't yet) before the year starts next year they'll have the option to send him to Adirondack or to send him back to Kelowna for his overage year.

My guess is he's back with Kelowna next year.

And I would be just fine with that. As long as it demotes Rosehill to ADK or the press box. Hall is really good at defense to from what I have seen, so that is a plus.

Hall, Rinaldo, and to a less-obvious degree Rosehill, have made a great 4th line for us all year. We all know how that Hall and Rinaldo have had a very positive impact for us this season, and although Rosehill doesn't shine through, I feel like his presence has had a positive impact on Rinaldo and Hall.

They haven't been scoring at all, but now that our scorers are beginning to do their job, seems like people around here have stopped hating on this 4th unit for not doing a 1st line job. They've been reliable all year.

He has grown on me leaps and bounds. To the extent I would even consider rewarding him with a 2 yr deal to give him some stability. 2 yrs, 800k per !
