for those that live in Toronto it was at Scarborough Ice Sports, sadly I found the hard way in that our men's league game was there the night after

God be with the family & friends

It is sad and like so many young athletes it is often due to an undiagnosed heart problem which is what they believe it is in this case.

I wouldn't be surprised if steroids were involved...

No sterioids weren't involved. Alex went to my school, and was a pretty good friend of mine. I'm still in shock about this whole thing...could not believe my ears when I heard about it...absolutely terrible.

Cheers alex, i'll see you up there some day buddy.

If that's the case then it's his own fault. Why the hell would a 17 year old kid feel the need to take steriods.

Let's just wait to hear an update before people start speculating though.

Like someone else said, chances are it was an undiagnosed heart problem.

thanks for clearing that up.

Sorry about your friend. It's terrible news.

Did you know if he had any problems with his heart?

Non that were diagnosed, but afterwards I heard from his girlfriend that his parents told her that there had been a history of heart problems in his family, so maybe he inherited it or something...if that's even possible...
