I hate to repeat what the announcers say.

But he's been superb with his rebounds.

the last 6 games salo has been nothing but solid.... his save % is unbelievable over this period, and his overall save % since coming back is quite good as well now, i think its .923 now and his GAA is 1.75.... he has really turned it on over the past couple weeks

if he keeps this up for a couple more weeks, i think lowe will have to consider what to do with him, because all of a sudden salo will look like a legit #1 again

Rebounds have been his downfall if you go back and look at my posts I have been saying this all along. Nothing coming off of him right now

Finally! He hasn't averaged a .900 save percentage in a loooong time, and he's on his way back to some respectable stats.

Seems like everyone is stepping up right now...and our playoff hopes are getting a bit better each game.

One thing I really noticed Salo has improved is his stickwork. He is more aggressive in knocking away pucks and passed that try to go across the crease. Its really helping him out since it reduces the number of high quality chances against him. I'll give kudos to his goalie coach for that one.

i think that report a couple of weeks ago, cant remember who but it was someone on the board, mentioned that the reason why Salo sucked was because of the change in his style to compensate for his age...well if thats what it was, or indeed if it was an injury then i see no reason why he can't keep it up. Still time will tell.

thats came from Kelly Hrudey on Behind the Mask and someone posted what he said about Salo and goalies having to change styles when they hit 30 or older

Yes I remember the interview, it gave me hope for Salo. Hrudey noticed that certain older goalies have to change when they get older (i.e. into their 30's) as their reactions slow down and they have to depend less on their natural athleticism. Apparently Hasek went through it, Belfour went through the bad year in Dallas, he (Hrudey) went through it and Salo is apparently going through it. Hrudey did expect that Salo would be able to learn other tricks or become goalie-smarter in order to compensate and would be able to turn it around. I remember that interview and picked up Salo in my fantasy draft...

Ya, Tommy has been terrific. I don't think it's reasonable to expect him to continue to play like he has in his last six because to play 30 games with a .97 save% is impossible. But a .920 to a .930 save for the rest of the season is POSSIBLE (not likely). If he continues to eat rebounds like he has been I don't see his save % dipping below the .940 mark for the rest of the year!
