Never seen Red Wings players do it that blatantly. That is absolutely disgusting and not in a good way.

Does anyone know the time in the game that this happened? I'm now kind of interested in hearing what they said

Oh, and while we're talking about Detroit's PBP crew, I have to say the sidekick is awesome. I only ever watch the highlight of their games, but he's always chuckling and making funny noises that just brighten up my day

He'll be back by around christmas, maybe earlier. So long as the surgery was a success (which it was) six weeks is the max he will be out I imagine... he has already been out for 2 weeks.

I think it's pretty stupid to be honest. Why not just wear a boot?

Great for Stamkos that Bruins medical team get it sorted... kind of lucky it happened there actually. They have the experience!

Those guys must be the leading experts in that kind of injury by now! Like 3 of their guys have had the same in the last few years and all been back in great time. (though I imagine every medical team but ours is just as competent! ;p)

10 Former NHLers to sue the League re: Concussions

Quote:
Among other things, the suit claims that:—The NHL knew or should have known about scientific evidence that players who sustain repeated head injuries are at greater risk for illnesses and disabilities both during their hockey careers and later in life.—Even after the NHL created a concussion program to study brain injuries affecting NHL players in 1997, the league took no action to reduce the number and severity of concussions during a study period from 1997 to 2004. "Plaintiffs relied on the NHL's silence to their detriment," the suit says.—The league didn't do anything to protect players from unnecessary harm until 2010, when it made it a penalty to target a player's head."The NHL's active and purposeful concealment of the severe risks of brain injuries exposed players to unnecessary dangers they could have avoided had the NHL provided them with truthful and accurate information and taken appropriate action to prevent needless harm," the lawsuit says.
The 10 players are: Gary Leeman, Bradley Aitken, Darren Banks, Curt Bennett, Richard Dunn, Warren Holmes, Robert Manno, Blair James Stewart, Morris Titanic and Rick Vaive. Only Leeman and Vaive would ring a bell for most NHL followers.

All of the players listed stopped playing prior to the NHL's institution of the concussion program in 1997.

I literally never heard of any of those guys so I guess that should indicate their motive here.
