Geno with more ice to work with.... best player in the world.

Either way, Russia's down fall will be its D, but at times those forwards will be plain mesmerizing to watch.

That's Crosby and Stammer for those not keeping up, btw.
You can't have Ovechkin and Crosby on the same team unfortunately.

The only thing Stamkos had on Ovechkin was goal scoring, but now that Ovechkin has gone into Beast Mode, he is once again the best goal scorer in the NHL.

Stamkos had a hell of a start to the year but that sample size doesn't put him over Ovechkin who just won the Hart Trophy last year and beat out Stamkos for the Richard.

Talking sample size and bringing up last season is funny, especially since Ovi was invisible for January and half of February last year, and of course the previous two seasons where Stamkos was clearly the better player.

Stamkos is better than Ovechkin, especially since Stamkos plays a 200 foot game now and is by far the better Even Strength player, while Ovi is and always has been a floater in his own zone and now feasts off the power play, which will dry up as the season goes on, and disappear when the playoffs come around.

Malkin
Crosby
Ovechkin
Stamkos

I'd take Ovi and Geno without thinking twice. Unstoppable line.

When exactly did Stamkos become some wizard defensively? And Ovechkin is on pace for over 40 ES goals. Don't think that's a PP feaster. Wake me up when Stamkos can at least hit the 100 point mark.

Of course, this whole thing is petty, we both are not completely objective here and both players are top 5 in the NHL.

It wasn't the points that Stamkos was putting up, it was the all-around game he had. He was doing everything people were criticizing him for previously (playing good defense, controlling the game, etc.). He'd taken his game to another level IMO.

People don't think Malkin and Ovi compliment each other? I think they fit perfectly, look how well Neal does with Malkin. Malkin's a fantastic playmaker, and he'll be able to keep the attention on himself with his speed, allowing Ovi more chances to get open for his one timers.

I voted Malkin/Ovi, but no wrong answer here. Crosby/Stamkos would certainly be better in their own end, but you really don't want either combo playing in their own end if you can help it, leave that to other lines.

Question though, assuming Stamkos is the one to move to wing, has he done well on wing before?

I'd rank the players in order on how they're listed in the poll.

Crosby & Stamkos as I believe they would compliment each other better. Also, I believe them to be better skaters around the ice than Ovechkin & Malkin (who are great skaters in their own right).

Interesting poll. Stat wise I'd go Crosby/Stamkos, but Malkin / OV certainy has a physical game advantage.

Can I vote regular season CS and playoffs MO

I'll take the Russians on the big ice, at home. In the NHL, a different story.

Last Olympics Malkin and Ovechkin were nothing special when playing together. They were neutered playing head-to-head with Toews-Richards against Canada.

Hard to comment on a hypothetical Stamkos and Crosby pairing because quite often the actual situation cannot live up to the legend (e.g., Gretzky with Hull); however, when it does (e.g., Lemieux-Gretzky) it can be magical to watch.

Note: I am not comparing Crosby and Stamkos to Lemieux, Hull, Gretzky, etc... just using them in an analogy to make my point.
