Well I've had my soccer team for ~4 months now. Still in level III but moved from league 15 to 6. Have built up my stadium pretty well I think. Making smarter player buys than when I first started. Probably finish between 4-6 again.

Nice! I take it the league is much tougher given the re-structuring?

In the last two games, my top player (328 OR) is 3/8 in 7m throws.

Do what I did. Spend 10-50k on a one-atty player where all training is in shooting. He rides the bench and comes on for 7m throws only. He was 15 for his first 15 and is 54 for 57 right now (95%). Taking regular shots into account he is 33 for 42 (79%).

Not bad numbers!

A bit tougher but the standings are clearly top heavy. Still a lot of inactives.

Nice strategy, but then i can't roll two lines (or some offense/defense only players). Maybe i'll try it, though i'm already up to 25 players most of the time (i let one player leave yesterday by not extending his contract).

You could switch to a 6+2+1 or 6+3+1 with the 2 goalies and 2 or 3 subs.

Interesting system you have going Canuck. Never thought of that.

P.S. That is Team USA's arena. Will have to see what he gets for sponsors next season to see how long it takes to pay off. I am thinking that the money for that triple would have been better spent on facilities at this time.

He is a W on my bench players. Given the low builds of players still he's not a detriment.

Thanks. I used it in soccer during S1 too. Guy was a PK king! Regarding the arena: I'd have to agree. But we're getting to the point in a season or so where the arena will become very important.

Haha I mention him and he gets all egotistical. He went 0/2 today in 7m throws

I am so confused by the team that bought one of my players today. Equally confused that it's got accepted by a gamemaster so quickly, if it wasn't for the fact that I have no idea who this guy is I would be saying there had to be tampering involved (of course there wasn't, I have no idea what happened here).

Here's the manager profile: http://ppm.powerplaymanager.com/en/m...-barca-forever

His experience is level 11, meaning this was the first day he could do trading, and he spends 47 million on my 19 year old defenseman, who I thought would top out at 20 million tops. He sticks out like a sore thumb on that team, his OR is 979, while the next highest is 167! How did this guy come up with 47 million to spend on 1 player, then actually spend it all on 1 guy? The craziest thing, he hadn't even logged in to his account for 10 days, then suddenly pulls this move off.

Just thought you guys would get a chuckle out of it. Barca Forever isn't any of you guys on HFBoards, is it? If it is, please let me know your reasoning for overpaying for my player!

So after acquiring a few players I needed to cut back on my roster and I put my scrub 593 OR defenseman on the market two days ago, on primetime (9PM CET), and no one bid on him.

So then I did what every responsible manager should do. I put him on the market again at a slightly less premium time slot (11PM CET).

I just got 1.535M for him

Well, I have no idea why he spent that on one player, but I know how he came up with the money! He created his team on October 4th, which was the day before the last game of the soccer season. So he got prize money for his regular season finish, he has 7 or 8 weeks of sponsor money, plus promotion money (leagues were restructured).

No idea what happened there. Did you see bid history before the transfer? Was it a bidding war or he just bid all one one guy? It is kind of a shame, that player will be ruined now due to crap facilities.

I've done that before. Toss staff up for 10k a couple times. Eventually someone bites. Cheaper than firing them

Ya it's too bad he went to a crap team, with good facilities he could have ended up being a very good long term player for lots of teams wanting to make that next jump. Unfortunately I didn't see the final bidding history, wish they kept that up for a bit longer after the transfer so you could see how it went down. I do know there were quite a few bids on him with 30 minutes to go, so I wouldn't doubt that there was a bidding war and the guy just spent all his money without realizing it till the sale was finalized.

Was surprised cause I had another guy sold today that I thought would actually get more money, and he only sold for 8 million. Sometimes the market is the best part of this game, so random at times.

I'm struggling to figure out how a 12 manager EXP team could accumulate 47M. I suppose his 12 EXP is spread out sparsely between last season and this so he had some prize money to burn I suppose.

If you have manager experience greater than 11 and you do not log-in for 3 days, then your manager experience decreases by 1. The manager took over his football team during season 10.

--From the guide:

"Manager experience

Every manager gains experience automatically by playing the game regularly. For each day that you log into your team you gain one point of manager experience. For three days of inactivity you lose a point. Until you get to 11 points you don't lose points for inactivity. Once you reach this mark you will not drop below it. The number of points that you have determines your level of experience. The higher your level, the more benefits you can enjoy. Warning! Experience is tied to your team and if you lose your team, you will have to start gathering experience from zero."

----------------------------------------------------------------

Today I am thankful for a 4*, 6/6, 400+ OR, universal winger in the first pull of the season.

Nice pull Obryantj!

Saw on Czech forums that one team pulled 464 and 504 players today.

Wow nicely done! I had one week 2 or 3 last season and he nearly broke 700 OR before he was 16. Timing is EVERYTHING. I got a 3* 350-something OR guy as my best. Didn't bother pulling. Perhaps I should though, since my guys are in camp I can at least have him scouted and playing B.S. minutes until they're back.

... nah.

And my defensive rebuild is complete!

Five defenseman 100k each:

D : P : A
500:290:200
408:220:180
382:192:200
352:177:170
313:157:165

Now all I need is that the owners (both inactive) don't match my bids for a 1200 OR #2C and 1250 OR #1G, to go through and I'll become in serious contention to climb out of III.14
