Buffalo claims Matt D'Agostini

While we were all fixated on where Rusty Klesla would go, it was actually Matt D'Agostini who teams were interested in.

per Ryan Rishaug

D’agostini awarded to Buffalo, Klesla clears.

Awards:
"Awarded" sounds as though there were other claiments.

Posted this in the waiver thread also. Thank god D'Agostini is gone. He sucked so bad. The only time we heard his name was when he missed the net by 25 feet. His only point was when he just touched a puck off the faceoff and Dupuis ripped one. He looked awful.

Good riddance. He played 8 games, even got some shifts with the big boys (Sid and Geno) and I still didn't notice him once.

Wish the Flyers would do the same with Meszaros.

I liked D'Ags while he was here. Hope he does well in Buffalo.

For the contract he signed I was sure he would have brought a little offense and helped our 3rd line. He didn't help the 3rd line at all and against Boston he played on Crosby's wing all game never even noticed him once. Good riddance

When he was with the blues there was maybe a year or a year and a half where he was a decent option to step onto a scoring line if you needed him to or a checking line but not good enough at either to stay there full time. Then he started to slip a bit and he was riding the press box, looks like he kept going backwards after he left us. To Buffalo, his main and only assets are good speed and a hard shot, absolutely nothing else.

He was horrible.. I´m really happy he´s gone. But Buffalo has nothing to lose, so whatever.

The league doesn't release it, but it would still be possible for a reporter to get inside info from a team if they also put in a claim

He's on a league minimum contract, so it's not surprising that multiple teams put in claims...but I certainly won't complain. He was brutal.

I think we all (Pens fans) had low expectations this season, but he still shat all over those. All the frustration of Tyler Kennedy, with none of the occasional payoff.

He's just one of those guys who's fast enough north/south to look like he belongs in the NHL but he's never gotten good enough at anything else to have a role he can succeed at.

His shot is NHL material. His accuracy would be iffy in a beer league.

He will play in Europe next year IMO. He's a good depth guy for Buffalo to finish the season and to trade veterans for picks and prospects.

The Sabres have to give a good effort without actually winning games.
