Here's an Idea....Fedotenko would be nice..

Since tampa is looking for an offesnive d-men. I would try to do this..

Ship them Rachunek for fedotenko..what's everyones thoughts on this?

Then we can have a permanent spot for pock which he greatly deserves when malik comes back.

Malik-Rozsival
Ward-Tyutin
Kaspar-Pock

then for offense, we have much more depth. Our 2nd pp would improve drastically as well.

Straka-Nylander-Jagr
Prucha-Cullen-Shanahan
Fedotenko-Immonen-Hall
Hossa-Betts-Ward

Hollweg, Orr as extras and impplemented when neccesary.

Talk about being able to roll 4 lines..

As a Lightning fan I would be pissed if we only got Rachunek for Fedotenko

Seriously?

If those are both team needs it seems fair to me. Not sure if the Rangers would do it just because I really don't know if they see another scoring winger as a need (although they should).

I feel honestly that Tampa needs an offensive D man like they need another 7 million dollar contract. Tampa does indeed need a dman, but they need at LEAST a top 4 defensive d man, if not 2 of them.

Seems like every team does. I think Malik would work well there with Boyle personally, but I doubt Malik is worth Fedetenko.

Beyond this season...

what is Rachunek's contract status?

He's payed mostly well, although he's been a third pair making $1.8MM - perhaps he's worthy of a bigger role, but do you pay that much for a third pair? Maybe there's value outside the Rangers, where he'd be played like a top four defenseman.

Hes young and would be better with a more solid defenseman.

I don't doubt that, although...

I'm a bit higher on both Tyutin and Rozsival now, and wouldn't see him as either of their partner at this point. I would like to see Rachunek on the point instead of Rozsival the next game, however.

Rosy can be very tricky with the puck, but I dont think he is a 1st line PP either.

I'm beginning to think Renney is considering moving Rachuncek up, he's been playing him more, almost 20 minutes a game and he's also been giving Rachuncek much more playing time on the powerplay (not as much as Roszival, but more than anyone else). But, I guess Renney's scared of making too many changes when the club is so fragile from all the losing.

Personally I'd rather see Tyutin used more on the powerplay. Rachunek has been much better since we lost Ozolinsh however if TB would trade Fedotenko for him I'd do it though TB more or less gave up Pitkanen to get him and I'm not sure that that would be enough.

So you'd like to get your 2 most physical and really...only physical forwards...out of the lineup for another skilled player?

Whats Fedotenko's salary status, because if he'd be here for more than this year then I'd have to pass. He's a player thats never scored over 40 points in a season and would ultimately block a space in the lineup where we could put a kid.

I understand management's dilemma with not bringing up the kids too soon, and I understand everyone's frustration with this....
....but management, and posters, needs to know that they don't need to trade to acquire more of a scoring touch. All they have to do is start bringing up kids that have shown they can score, most specifically dawes and callahan.

IMO, a trade for a third line winger is a wasted move.

Huh????????

Hossa in over Hollweg,Otrtmehas tofit in some where.

Plus great idea scratch Hollweg and Orr and let the NYR's get even softer than they are now, you would make a great coach.

Am I the only one here that thinks Rachunek has been the Rangers best defenseman lately? This guy needs to be put on the first PP unit because he can really shoot the puck. He has been nothing but solid defensively all season as well.

Rachunek is a group II this summer and is eligible for group III FA in 2008

Fedotenko is a group III this summer so he would be a rental
