Just to give you all an idea... this is the network that put Eklund on one of their trade deadline or free agent day shows. No really, they did. And it went as well as you might expect.

This would be comparable to the NFL moving from CBS/Fox to some local community access channel. Obviously SN is not quite as bad as community access, but they're not a hell of a lot better.
Ever since this deal iv had nightmares of watching game after game with Joe Bowen followed by Nick Kypreos and Doug McLean running the intermissions. Seriously, that is torture.

To be serious, I hope they pick up Chris Cuthbert. Easily my favourite play by play man

Shutout for Bryz against the offensively handicapped Preds - the Flyers somehow suck.

Yup, and it was for the Oilers, the team that gives up second to last most goals per game.

Just another prank call from the hockey spirits for our suffering.

*sigh*

How many more players have to suffer eye/facial injuries before they realize that wearing a visor beats blindness or life-altering issues?

But, but Don Cherry says the more protection a player has, the more liberties opposition players will take. We must go back to the days where no one, including goalies, wore helmets. It's the only way the players can be safe!

Bryz has shown a tendency to start well before turning into the worst goalie in he league.

I don't think visors will necessarily prevent all stick related eye injuries but in situations such as these, with a deflected puck, perhaps the result would have been different. One serious eye injury is one too many.

I almost forgot how many times you can hear the "OOOOOH" during the NBC broadcast. Iginla-Krejci-Lucic is one exciting line though

All their lines are pretty damn good/exciting to watch!

I cannot really begrudge the Bruins success. Their team is very well built all the way through. (though having Chara, Seidenberg, Krejci and Lucic turn out great/better than expected helped! +getting Rask.)

2 2 time 30 point (in PPG) scorers on their 4th...

Though their 3rd looks more susceptible to being scored on these days... Peverley-Kelly-Pouliot was impossibly annoying at times a few years back, they would piss you off, shut you down then score.

My dad played goal in college, back in the days before masks (yes, I'm that old). He had a pretty good left turn in his nose from the stick of a player following through on a close-in shot.

Those goalies back then were crazy!

As for the bolded, oh definitely. Anything with Marchand and Bergeron made me happy during the second half of last season, when we were routinely failing at getting to the 8th spot. And yes I must agree, that team is more than finely put together

That's not an uncommon phrase after a Brian Boyle fight, that dude literally can't fight to save his life.

I wish the Flyers would have taken a run at Burns... he would have cost, but the guy is a 1st line winger... and a #1b dman as well, takes a heck of a lot of talent (though playing on that Sharks team helps!). IMO better than Byfuglien as a guy who crosses over, (as an overall talent package) better D while playing as a D man, better offence as a forward, slightly worse offence as a D man.

Really? I've always thought Burns was one of the more overrated players in the entire league. Good no doubt, but not a superstar like I've heard people claim.

Btw, remember when the Islanders were supposed to be good this year. I'm taking some pleasure in watching their struggles after how arrogant their fans got in the offseason.

He is not a superstar by any means, but he is a damn good player... as a D man I think he is better than anything we currently have (40-45 points and solid D (07-12 when he played D, 5 years with that kind of production)... great skater as well, basically in my mind Coburn who gets 15-20 more points a year.) So basically a 1b.

He #1 PKed (in last two years at wild) and was #1 PP for the Wild (and the Sharks, though 1/2 PP there while on D) while having 23-25 mins a night. He always has good Corsi compared to his teammates as well, and in Minny was usually getting top pairing D QoC on average as well.

He's looking like a 65 point winger this year and last as well.

I only really rate him so highly as my little brother is a Wild fan... so got to watch a lot of him when he was at Minny, and now watch a fair few San Jose games as they are an enjoyable team to watch.

Columbus has been terrible. Probably a win for Edmonton and Bryz. They have offensive talent, and CBJ haven't played a shred of defense. Or offense, for that matter.
