Team MVP

Who would be your choice for current team MVP?

The nominees are:

Hossa - Two-way superstar, enough said.

Kozlov - Scoring, Leadership, Clutch goals. Combined with Lehtonen, Kozzie has won numerous thrasher games in shootouts.

Kovalchuk - The most dominant offensive force in the NHL. Would lead the league in goals and points if he had decent linemates.

Holik - Hulking centre is great at faceoffs and shutting down players. I can't wait to see him in the playoffs for the thrashers.

Havelid - Mr Dependable. Without him Atlanta's D sucks. Logs a huge amount of ice time and never misses a game with injury.

Lehtonen - DW's goalie prayers have been answered. The kid is the real deal and hopefully (touch wood) over his health woes.

My nomination is Niclas Havelid.

Defense (in my opinon) is what wins Stanley Cups and obviously Havelid is the teams unassuming star.

All of them I think are worthy picks. I like to point out that Holik's game is obviously more suited to playoffs when there is more of a focus on shutting down the other teams dominant player and that Kozlov's incredible shootout talent cannot be under estimated in the new NHL.

Hossa without a doubt, Kozlov runs a distant second.

Without Marian this team would be so much farther behind Buffalo than it is. He's been the best player in the NHL this year, despite what anyone may say about Crosby.

Lehtonen IMO, goalie is the key to any team. He is very good even when he is not playing well.

Hossa. Team wins but it takes a lot of goals to win the games it seems. very few are under 3 goals

Kozlov, because Hossa has been excellent, but he is playing like he is supposed to... Kozlov simply has a career year, has been so dominant in the shootout and scored more clutch goals than the whole team in the first half of the season!

So, slava get my vote!

We will know you've decided when the beaver (badger?) stops flipping?

Kozlov. As Kozlov goes, so go the Thrashers. Hossa's an incredible talent, but Kozlov IS the Thrashers. Everything goes through him.

Like you say they're all worthy, and at any given time each is the MVP, I voted Hossa because I had to choose.

What we need is for any two, along with the support players, to alternate monster weeks in succession so we can manage to stay in every game with a chance to pull ahead or salvage a point.
