Do you mean the player who scores the winning goal? No. The other shootout game this season, Bryan Little scored and wasn't named a top three star. The method probably varies within each arena.

Great 4th liner if you ask me. Can play big minutes if their is an injury and looks great on the PK.

Yeah, I guess they don't go by that method in Nashville.

I gotta say part of me gets really frustrated watching Mason have tremendous success; it's all based on photoshopping him onto various teams between say 1995 and the Kane goal in my mind and wondering, what if.

That's done by rule. Thank Uncle Gary for that one.

His shot looks beastly as well, he gets something else behind both his wrist and slapshot.

I still can't peg him... most probably a bottom 3 guy who Pks well and can step up when needed... but his skating, backchecking, boardplay and shot make me think he can be more. He seems to be pretty smart as well.

I like him as a 4th line guy but he was pretty frustrating when with Giroux earlier in the season. He was good along the boards in the offensive zone but it pretty much stopped there.

HAHAHAHAHAHA just checked bleacher report flyers page and saw a list of every teams goalie ranking and they have mason at number 29.........# 29? Is that a ****ing joke? The only goalie they have listed worse is Calgary's Reto Berra. That just made my night. Just uninstalled their app. Just thought id share that with all. Mason not being number one star of the night is also stupid.

5 for 5.

Voracek probably could have had an assist or two, he sent a couple nice passes that went right through the crease on the PP. I think Hartnell missed one and got denied on a Voracek pass and Simmonds got denied as well.

(I think it was Voracek, on the right side of the umbrella)...

It was. Voracek had a pretty bad game overall, but on the PP he was doing his part (other than you know scoring).

For me, a big plus was that Mason didn't fold after a couple of meh goals, which was his MO with Columbus.

Adam Hall's dominance continues. He won 7 of 9 draws against the best faceoff team in the League (based on percentages). Interestingly, Nashville's four centermen all went 50% (three went 8 and 8 and one went 6 and 6; one extra draw went in their favor).

Oh another big take away for me was dang it we should have sucked a lot harder at the end of last season. Turns out that we didn't even need to finish last to get Seth Jones. I thought he'd be very good, but I was very impressed I didn't think he'd be so good right away especially in his own end.

Yeah that winning streak at the end of last year was really beneficial.
