im not usually one to critisize the officials... but this is crap tonight... calgary gets called for diving when its a legit hook/trip... bieksa goes after lombardi and calgary gets the extra penalty... cooke take a shot well after the buzzer and calgay gets the only penalty... i wonder how much mcgoof gets paid to look like a goof?

haha Millions "there is a penalty, it must be to calgary"

The officiating is atrocious. I don't usually get into it too much but this is so obviously bad.

garbage both ways? the teams IMO have played equally dirty/cheap... yet the minor penalties are 12-7

Watch this, with all the grief we get for Iggy's empty net goals, the Nucks will put one in on us.....by the Sedins I bet.

Well, the officiating sucked but they still didn't deserve to win this one.

That's because the Canucks outworked the Flames all night. The team that loses battles to the puck always get more penalties. The reffing was atrocious, but it wasn't lopsided. The Flames got away with quite a bit as well, included a blatant too many men call in the late stages of the game.

HUH?

Lombardi was the most dangerous player on Vancouvers PP. Calgary was the better team 5 on 5. Luongo outplayed Kipper that simple and the officiating was Magoo style, blind as a bat.

It's such a wonderful feeling beating you guys -- especially with the kind of crap in this thread. Monkeys? Reffing? Sheesh.

Oh please. For the limited 5 on 5 time in the third, the edge goes to Calgary, but the first 40 minutes of the game were all Vancouver. If it wasn't for Lombardi and a few nice saves from Kipper, it would have been over long before the third period.

The Canucks played well in the first period, we got lucky with Burrows breaking in. The Flames dominated the 5 on 5 for the 3rd but couldn't put the puck in. Vancouvers power play was horrible and all around it was a pretty sloppy game for both teams. I think both teams were glad to get this one over with. Lombardi can fly out there, he was creating lots of room to the point the Calgary PK almost looked like a powerplay.

let them have their joy for now.

its like giving a crying baby a soother. only a temporary way to shut them up for a little while

i didnt see the game cause i was working, but from what i here there was bad reffing both ways. dosent surprise me, specially with magoo officiating. three in a row for vancouver against, good on them. they are playing good on the wrong days for us, no biggie though, still ahead in the standings and will stay that way. but we gotta beat them soon. iam getting a little tired of the meaningless gloating

I dont ever post at other people's boards, I just scan to see what they have to say, but I cant help but responde here.

-Bieksa didn't do anything to Lombardi after the goal was scored, Ference just shoved him and then instigated a fight and thats why he got the extra penalty.

-Cooke ''tapped'' the puck after the period he didn't shoot it, and the penalty on the play you're referring to was a hold by Warrener with 5 seconds left.

the flames may not have played their best, but at least they looked great compared to that other team on the ice wearing the black and white jerseys

Flames dominated 5 on 5??? HA! maybe the 3rd period, but they were invisible the first and majority of second.

Iginla had no effect on the game whatsover. The only flames who showed up were Lombardi, Kipper, and Phaneuf who had a hit or two on Cooke. Pathetic showing from a once dangerous team.

ummm no, Bieksa speared/slashed lombardi after the goal, you can even see Huselius spin around in the scrum to see who it was before Ference comes flying in to give it to Bieksa, Lombardi made him look like the chump he is atleast 3 times tonight. Its just too bad it was one of our smaller players which had to take him on instead of someone like Regehr who would have given the plug the proper pounding he deserved.

Bieksa did nothing after the goal was scored, maybe a little slash before he shot - which happens all the time. And if you call a 21 point defenceman - on pace for over 40 points a ''plugger'' you're out to lunch.
