Liles straight up for a AHL dman or a late pick and he is yours.

JML pre-concussion: 21 points in 34 games (~51 point pace)

Kaberle was also a great offensive defenseman before he got concussed, then the rest of his game fell apart and now he's out of the NHL entirely. And no, Liles never looked like a legit top-pairing D. I don't think he was ever any better than Kaberle.

Of course, the difference is that Burke decided to trade Kaberle instead of re-signing him to a ridiculous multi-year deal before returning from a major, possibly career-altering injury. But I'm glad Dreger has taken it upon himself to pump up Liles' tires as much as possible.

He hasn't been disappointing. He was injured. Do you even know what you are talking about here? He was great in camp and did well the AHL but had had major injury problems. He remains an important prospect.

The idea that the isles would move him now for a guy that they passed on waivers is beyond ridiculous.

Liles could be had for a crumpled dollar bill. The fact that there are still some of you who believe he has trade value is sad

Btw, could you please list the five dmen prospects in the isles system that rate above CDH? While you are at it, list the four dmen prospects that rank above him in the Leafs org.

The major injury problems are what are dropping him and have made him disappoint. Ashton had a good camp too, but he's been disappointing as well. Also, I'm not saying Liles would go for full cap necessarily, and that's why he wouldn't be picked up off waivers. By the way, I'm not even trying to argue with you, nor do I want him to traded to the Islanders before he is traded to the Hurricanes for Gleason.

1.Reinhart
2.Pulock
3.Pokka
4.Donavan
5.Mayfield
(Not necessarily in that order)

1.Rielly
2.Finn
3.Percy
4.De Haan
4.Granberg

Dreger the team shill is trying to build up a market for Liles, that does not exist.

McKenzie comes out right after Dreger's report, saying the isles don't want Liles at those number of years or that salary.

Er, Donovan was demoted so de Haan can take his place. Pokka is a marginal prospect and in no way , shape, or form above CDH. CDH was recalled before Mayfield too.

No offense but when it comes to this player I don't think you know what you're talking about .....

What? Pokka is a great prospect! Though I do admit I may be a year behind on De Haan.

He isn't a great prospect. He is doing well in Finland but we don't know of isles will even bring him over.

Would you accept a 7th rounder in 2018? Because, you are not even getting that.

You do realize you (read as: TML) have no leverage in that case?

Prepare to be surprised, I think he's still servicable.

We'll see AMac next July.

Garth Snow and the Islanders are in a tough(er?) bind at the moment.

They may actually give up a useful asset for John-Michael Liles.

Liles is not a bad player at all. He could help the Isles.

Nice that you personally think that. Too bad the 29 GMs who passed on him in waivers don't agree.

I sure you also though that McCabe, Komisarek, and Kubina all were "still serviceable" and had trade value.

You can personally think whatever you want. Its silly and deluded to think that Liles has that kind of market value (or, in fact, any market value whatsoever) but that is your choice.

You'll "see" AMac in July, just like Leaf fans got to "see" Tavares - in another team's uniform.

That childish remark aside, neither you or I have any idea what McDonald is going to do this summer but the idea that the isles will send him to the Leafs for Liles NOW is beyond laughable
