In the winter I actually prefer temp thats well below zero. Makes it more comfortable for getting out the Cross Country skis or snowshoes. Anything warmer than -15 I don't much care for in winter.

Its a high of +1 today and precipitation which is friggen annoying because you know what a frozen mess that will make over everything..

The whole city will be a skating rink by monday or tuesday.

I've had the ice chip out so much this year I'm wondering about a flame thrower to clear the walks and driveway..

That stupid "ice melt" stuff eventually melts concrete as well. Shouldn't really use it much. Sand on front steps gets tracked everywhere..

Gotta add that eavestroughs were never invented for Northern climates and snow either.

The snow perfectly hangs over all of them and drip drip drip all over your front entrance, garage driveway, etc..

theres a few rants safely out of the way.

And there is the snowfall warning.
Quote:
City of Edmonton - St. Albert - Sherwood Park
4:17 PM MST Saturday 30 November 2013
Snowfall warning for
City of Edmonton - St. Albert - Sherwood Park continued

Heavy snow beginning late Sunday. A band of precipitation over eastern parts of Capital region continues to produce a mix of rain or snow with patchy freezing rain. The precipitation will continue to move eastward early this evening and transition to snow.

On Sunday, an intense winter storm will move through Alberta. Heavy snow is expected to begin in Northwestern Alberta early Sunday morning and spread southeastward throughout the day and night. General amounts of 15 to 25 centimetres are expected along the track of the storm while some areas could see more than 30 centimetres.

In the wake of the storm system, strong northerly winds will develop and usher in cold Arctic air on Monday. Winds gusting above 60 km/h could produce extensive blowing snow over parts of Central and Southern Alberta. Over open areas, including Major Highways, blizzard conditions may occur. The gusty winds will also result in wind chill values in the minus twenties.
Gentlemen get your shovels ready.
Also if you are driving be careful because it will be ugly!

I'd like to try that one day, rather than taking a nasty spill as I walk down my driveway... There's one way to assure I'm awake in the morning...

It looks as though the meteorologists got it wrong and that the storm will only be as far north as Ponoka.

Another botch by the Meteorologists.

Really? I see the precipitation radar and it says that we could get hit with something in a matter of minutes.
