Byfuglien to Philly

I know its Eklund but he has for the past few months constantly linked Byfuglien to the flyers. He seems to do well with Philly info.

Would...

B.Schenn, L.Schenn get it done? Fair value?

or

Voracek straight up perhaps?

Am I right in thinking the Jets needs are; winger, centre, defensive defence-man?

Both are close, but not quite there in my opinion. I like B. Schenn and Couts but Luke doesn't do much for the Jets with their log jam at RD, he would slot behind Bogosian and Trouba on the 3rd pair most likely. Not sure what to add to get either deal as close as it needs to be though.

Needs wise the Jets are looking for a top 4 LD defensive minded shutdown guy, top 6 RW help and bottom 6 help.

I'd love to get Buff, but...I dunno, he's going to cost a lot...

From a neutral point of view, Voracek & mid pick for Buff sounds very doable.

Both Schenn's? NO

Voracek? NO

Are we thinking of the same lazy player here? A guy who's been a minus player basically his whole career? You have to be kidding me. You can have MAYBE Luke Schenn and a pick but IN NO WAY do you get Brayden and or Voracek. Thats just silly. If Holmgren ever traded Brayden Schenn or Voracek for Buf I'd never defend him again.

I personally do not want Big Buff on this team. Nor would I give up B Schenn or Voracek for buff.

Just close the thread, Luke Schenn plus a 2nd is what you'd maybe give? Lol.

I haven't seen Byfuglien play any games this season other then the two against the Flyers, but I think he probably had his best and worst games in those two. In the first game, it seemed he was everywhere and was threatening to score on every shift. Plus he had two goals. In the second game, it seemed he couldn't do anything right.

With that said, I'd definitely take him on the Flyers, though as a fan, I don't think I'd like price it would cost.

Yeah, its so funny that he doesn't want buff on this team for the price that is asked. Thats all he would offer. Nice reading comprehension skills.

I guess my reading comprehension has something to do with the topic, thanks for the failed attempt at being witty though.

Regardless, two roster players for Byfuglien(one of them being a defenseman who is terrible whenever a Flyers fan mentions him outside a trade thread) is not a steep asking price at all for a #1 D who produces more than the forward in question offensively and out plays Luke Schenn with his eyes closed.

It's pretty clear there are about 3 people in this thread that have actually watched Byfuglien play over the past 2 year.

Every thread involving Buff is the same, people going off what they heard 5 years ago in Atlanta when he first started playing defense and gauging his value off that.

Also forgot to add, he's fat and lazy.

Than keep Buff, why would the Jets shop him if he was so good?
That would be like Ottawa shopping Karlsson, management would be fired

I want nothing to do with Buff.

No Schenns.

No Jake.

No hope. (okay, a little dramatic)

Why does any team trade a good player?
To fill holes in other areas?

Why did the Flyers trade Richards and Carter?

Because he would warrant a massive return and the Jets have a litany of skilled right handed defensemen in Bogosian, Trouba, Postma and Redmond?

And who's to say the Jets are shopping him? Different guy being shopped every day according to the online rumormills.

Also it's ridiculous to compare Karlsson to Byfuglien, one is a 23 year old Norris winner and one isn't. Trade value of the two isn't even close.

Exactly! That's why some of these proposals are close to being legit and some could be completely ********...Buff being shopped by Winnipeg falls in the latter. Plus Buff has a NTC I believe.

But in fairness, Buff HAS been on the ice for the most ES goals AGAINST on the Jets.

He has been on the ice for 27 GA at ES....20 GF
Enstrom has been on the ice for 15 GA at Ed...and ...17 GF

Say what you will, but at ES, Enstrom help you win way more than Buff.

4/6 D-man are plus players on the Jets...Buff is the worst at -7. Just saying that people have a point when they say he hurts on ES.

Common knowledge that +/- is not a highly valued statistic at all. Go look up his Corsi, QoC, etc.

You seem to be under the impression that because a player is on the ice for when a goal is scored that that player is automatically responsible for that goal. Just because Buff was on the ice for 27 GA (While playing more EV minutes mind you) does not mean that he was responsible for those goals that went in. Plus minus is a terrible stat, you should probably not ever use it.

I would say you are completely wrong here....Dmen are totally responsible when goals are scored against their team while on the ice. Every coach and GM in the league looks at this stat.
That's like saying GAA stat isn't important when it comes to a goalie.
