You all know what I mean. It's painfully obvious that we overthink shooting and especially on the pp. Did we even have a shot on our pps last night? I'm talking about firing at the net with traffic. Pretty plays rarely score. It's bouncing off bodies and rebounds that go in. That doesn't happen if you don't shoot. Kimo is especially guilty of this on the pp when he has a center shot and passes to the side. Shoot it down the middle with all the players creating screens(our own and theirs). But we would rather take the chance on passing to the sides . This east-west passing only gets us in trouble and we rarely get the shot off before it's deflected away.

How does Berube come into the equation then?

Your kidding right? Berube is the coach. The coach should dictate the style of play. He's not off the hook. If he doesn't like how they play it's his responsibility to change it. If he can't correct it he doesn't deserve the job.

And honestly with Lavy they were scoring more. He was just stuck with a rotten goalie.

It's not his fault the players can't hit water if they fell out of a boat, it's not his fault no one outside of Mason has been consistently good since game 1 of the season.

They couldn't score at even strength last year with Lavi & the team defense was absolutely terrible on top of a **** goalie.

All of your posts are literally *****ing about Berube. The guy isn't a bad coach & has been making best out of what he has been given.

Pretty much this. The guy's been an assistant for awhile now under some very good coaches. He's familiar with offensive systems like Lavy's and defensive ones like Hitchcock's.

He's only been head honcho in charge trying to implement a more defensive system for what? 2 months now if that? wasn't November a relatively bad ass month for the Flyers in the standings? We have already seen improvement. Granted that was against weaker teams but it's a start. Absolutely no issue with Berube at all. He's got the chops.

No, it's not just about Berube, but he gets no pass either. It's about the pass first mentality. Something he needs to change. Start with Kimo, if he won't shoot on the pp, take him off it. It's about shooting on net, it's about rebounds and deflections. No more fancy crap. It's about stopping the blame on the defense. We're 10th in goals against. But we're 5 from last in goals for. You need to shoot, especially on the pp, to score. We were pitiful last night, we didn't have a ton of opportunities but when we did we either passed on the shot or missed the net.
Berube tells them to shoot more, well if they don't then he needs to bench guys who don't, he is the coach.
Our goalies are playing outstanding, but their not getting goal support. Our defense has been adequate. It's all on the offense and it's Berube who has to change it. We've seen them perform before, it's not lack of talent.

They can't hit the net half of the time, how is that Berube's fault? Do you want him to jump off the bench & score a goal personally?

Well he never could before.
We all know their capable. that's ridiculous. It's the style of play that's wrong.

You act like this team is comprised of stiffs, we know its not. Most of these guys are very talented. It seems like they are working in a system that does'nt promote scoring.

When they start actually hitting the net and stop passing up prime chances to make fancy plays and they continue not to score then we can talk about Chiefs system.

The OP was literally calling for Chief's head after the Detroit game (his third game as HC).

There's no rhyme or reason here.

When Lavi came it took him what, 3 months before the team finally began turning around?

Their ES scoring was bad last year, too. They just had the powerplay working.

I'll admit I was against Berube from the get go. I think if you fire the coach his whole staff should go also. As an assistant he is part of the coaches program, and if the team stops working for the coach the assistants are part of that. I personally think Lavy deserved a season with this goaltending duo. Berube hasn't shown me he can get this offense running. If he does I'll own up to it.
