On no team in the NHL should McGinn be considered a decent 2nd liner... Kulikov for McGinn straight up would be the worst deal a rebuilding team's GM could make.

And this is why Colorado won't trade Mcginn for kulikov... and get ready to be very disapointed when Kulikov get traded

It's not even about how he's done so far in his career. The dumb part of your post was calling a 25 year old a "career 3rd liner." He has much more of his career to go, could blossom at age 27-30 even (like PAP) and to say he's reached his peak already is absurd.

Doug Maclean reported that the Leafs and Panthers are having serious talks regarding Kulikov. Gardiner and a 2nd?

Leaf fan here with little interest in another young, LH, OFD. Anyways, Jamie McGinn is not a second line player. Doesn't matter if he's scored 37 or 27 points in a season. Still not a second liner. Good character guy though and certainly a nice depth piece. I'd keep him if I were the Avs.

If McGinn is a top six player, Kulemin is a first liner.

37 in 78 games in 11-12, and 22 in 47 last year. McGinn isn't fetching a top 4 defenseman by himself, but don't sell him short.

Kulikov is really living off his name at this point. He'll probably get something good in return but his play hasn't been very good.

McGinn is a plumber. Top 6 my ass.

Kully needs a fresh start. The Panthers are a poorly run dog **** franchise. I like them, but Kully on a new team will do well. He came into the league really good..but the team just can't do well...they let Brian Campbell have 30 mins and wonder why they're a weak team.

Look forward to the Kulikov traded tweet. Should be any day now too.

Lol give it a rest, Leafs fans...

"McGinn sucks! "

"Kulemin is awesome but he needs a new team to unleash said awesomeness"

KULEMIN
2011-12 = 70gp 7g 21a 28pts
2012-13 = 48gp 7g 16a 23pts
2013-14 = 16gp 2g 3a 5pts

McGINN
2011-12 = 78gp 20g 17a 37pts
2012-13 = 47gp 11g 11a 22pts
2013-14 = 22gp 4g 4a 8pts

Yeah, so unless you're talking like 4 years ago, I'll take the 25 year old who's still got something to show, who's 2 years younger and on the better contract rather than the guy who's supposed to be in his prime but 'apparently' can't outscore a crappy 3rd liner as you leafers put it.

As a FL fan, I would do something like McGinn + Elliott for Kulikov + depth winger (Bobby Butler maybe).
