This is great for Oiler fans. Honestly the WJC is so overrated. It doesn't do much for a player other than raise their profile and build or destroy their ego. Now Nurse will have an even bigger chip on his shoulder than ever before. He was pretty choked when he didnt make the oilers out of camp as an 18 year old over guys with one way contracts. And look how he's responded. Imagine his reaction to getting cut from a team he obviously should have made.

Ya, he's clearly a pretty emotional guy, so hopefully he doesn't take it too badly, and can use it to help push him to the next level. Luckily, he does have family members who can give him solid advice.

So my computer broke, and I'm stuck using the mobile site, which means I'm a little behind. Hopefully I'll have it fixed shortly. I certainly have a new respect for Seachd

Zharkov not invited, which can't bode well for him.

Also, Nalimov, the Russian goalie who stood on his head at the subway super series wasnt invited

Has he struggled that much in the KHL? I am sort of surprised. He was on the team at last years WJC

Thanks, the link I was looking at (here) is wrong and he's not listed. Glad to hear he is, he earned a camp spot for sure.

Good call, he was on the team last year. In one of the threads here a Mod that watches Russian hockey said that he should be in the league below the KHL right now so I'd definitely take that as him struggling a bit right now.

This does not sound correct. I know HF has his weight at 187, Elite Prospects at 194 , and HockeyDB at 187. Also the Oilers site has him at 194.

I understand that these may not be accurate but 165 sounds way too low

There were some posts about this near the beginning of the season in this thread, Blunderbore pointed out that his club Salavat has him listed at 6'0" 175lbs. Since he never came to NA for the combine, or Edmonton for the Oilers camps, that's probably be the most reliable source. Who know's where EP or HockeyDB get their height/weights from.

Houck with a goal tonight. Nice tip on the PP late in the 3rd to give Vancouver the win.

‏@Bob_Stauffer 9h Oilers prospect Jackson Houck of the Vancouver Giants started the year with 2-1-3 (-7) in first 12 GP. Since then 12-9-21 (+1) last 19GP

According to TVA Sports' QMJHL reporter Mikeal Lalancette, Marc-Olivier Roy will be out at least a month with a concussion.

He had an interview on the Oilers site a few weeks ago about how his wrist injury from camp was his first real injury ever. And now a concussion, I swear this club is cursed.
