I'd do Harding before Bernier.

I think Luongo will get the chance to continue on based on his performance in Vancouver. Price is virtually a lock for a spot.

The third goalie doesn't matter because, unless there is an injury or horrible dropping of the ball by Luongo AND Price, the third goalie doesn't matter.

I think it could be Smith, though, based on his willingness to play in the World Championships. Hockey Canada appreciates that.

Team USA would appreciate Smith's presence too.

Who is USA's main ones?

Quick, Miller, does it really matter?

I don't know what Quick's injury status is, but I imagine it's him, Miller, Anderson, Howard, and Schneider in the running.

Harding's season has been incredible, particularly considering he's dealing with MS. I don't know what treatment regimen he's following or how badly he is before and after games, but I am in awe of a professional athlete who is excelling at such a high-stress position all the while staring down a debilitating nerve condition.

That being said, I'd go with Price (superb season to date), Harding, Bernier.

Subban is a top 10 D at the very least in pretty much everyone's opinion with his exact placement varying depending on who you ask. That's very valuable. He's also young so he's not likely to have any trouble with regression for a very long time.

Lundqvist is a goalie and in this day and age there's a lot of people that believe G is the least important position so long as there's a goalie in place that won't let in soft goals. Those same people would also probably argue that G is just as much of a byproduct of the team in front of them as anything else in this day and age. Those kinds of things can't be said of any other position really.

Lundqvist is also a lot older and will be almost 40 by the time it ends so that matters a lot.

Boychuk stretchered off after a hit from MaxPac. It was a board, just wasn't a malicious hit, he went very akwardely into the boards. Looked like a back/neck injury. Main boards saying it wasn't a penalty, have to disagree. He got his 5 on the back of his jersey(wears 55) and was a good two/three feet away from boards.

Boychuk needs to be stronger on his skates, that was weak.

I think the whole situation is avoided if Max Pac doesn't hit him there. He went down, but was hit down. It doesn't have to be the strongest check to make someone fall, just getting him at the right moment.

Hmmm that's an interesting play.

I swear we see that play happen many times a game, Boychuck just went in extremely awkwardly.

A two minute penalty would have sufficed in my opinion. Just an unfortunate result

They just updated that Boychuk is in a local hospital for observation, and they emphasized that he was able to move all of his extremities. Scary.

Roy left Varlamov in for all 8 goals allowed against Edmonton... immediately reminded me of Patrick's last game in Montreal...

wow did my keeper league team take a big turd.
13 skaters 1 goal.
Varlamov in goal.

yikes.

3 of those 8 came in the final 4 minutes. not really close to the Roy game where he gave up 9 or wharever i was. I think all those came in the first 2 periods mostly

For those who don't venture to the main board, here's a hilarious video of Patrik Berglund attempting to take a slapshot.

It also means Mason is now 6th in SV% of guys with more than 10 games in the NHL. And 5th amongst guys with more than 12 starts!

Mike Smith has been the better goalie over a longer period of time.
I am not sure why people will be upset if Mason isnt selected.. i would rather him stay home and get rested instead of being the 3rd goalie who will never play.

Mason I don't think has any shot to be on the team/taxi squad. I get that it's about now but he doesn't have the track record to make the team outside of this year.

At first I thought Elliot laughing would be the best part of the video, but in the end I think the cameraman tracking the non-existent shot was far better.
