Canada will go with the players with the proven track record. Not a guy who has been very good for a short stretch.

If the Islanders do make a coaching change, seems like Lavy will be a "top candidate" for the spot according to Botta.

While I agree with this, in the Olympics when its a sprint to the finish with like 4 games...wouldn't you want guys that are hot?

NHL govs likely to get (14-15) cap projection from league when they meet early next week in California. Sounds like it may be around $70M.

It doesn't always work out that way. Canada took the hottest line in the NHL going into Vancouver with Heatley, Thornton, & Marleau they didn't do much together.

Here's an article about Nick Pryor, Chris Pryor's son, who is with us as a scout now. Thought it was pretty neat and it was a good read.

Nodl is married to Pryor's daughter.

Someone mentioned Harding last page, and I feel like just out a respect they should give him the 3rd goalie spot and dress him against a cupcake so he can get a medal, because:

A) He's earned it
B) He's probably never going to get a chance to play in the Olympics again because of his condition
C) His story is absolutely incredible...and it's something that could draw more positive attention to the sport (not that I want to USE his condition as a booster, but the world loves feel good stories)

Plus, you're putting the goalies in a different situation than they're in here in the NHL, so you don't know how they're going to respond. And even if you do go with the three hottest goalies at the moment, I'm not sure Mason would sneak in. In that situation, he should be at least in consideration, though.

Drouin probably with a concussion after getting hit by fellow Tampa prospect Adam Erne.

That could potentially be a big blow for both Canada (Drouin) & USA (Erne) in the WJC's, if Drouin's hurt & Erne gets suspended.

Edit: Erne claimed Drouin dove.

Interesting. At least he's able to score in other aspects of life.

So apparently stuff is going down in the Boston-Pittsburgh game.

Neal knee'd Marchand in the head when Marchand was already down on the ice and Thornton attacked Orpik.
