Setzinger

Does anybody know why he didn't play in the last game?

Setzinger hasn't been too eager to defend and hasn't shown anything spectacular on the other end either. He has been arrogant after returning from Nashville this autumm. Maybe good performance there was too much and he thinks he is better than he actually is. He missed two games (20.9 HIFK-Pelicans and 4.10 SaiPa-Pelicans) and would have missed even more, but some injuries in the Pelicans team forced coach to put him on ice. The last 4-5 games he has played for 4th line. He even scored a goal against Tappara. Total for for this season is poor - 1 goal and 1 assist. Pelicans isn't doing too well at the moment, so I guess Setzinger will get better chances to show his talent as the time goes by.

The another Predators prospect Daniel Widing is doing a lot better. He played several games for the 1st line and has been really positive surprise. The last two games Widing has played for the second line. He hasn't scored too many points (1 goal + 3 assists), but been extremely enterpricing.

I saw the game between Ässät and Pelicans on saturday. Setzinger was pretty invisible on the game. He played but got nothing made really. In his current form he does not help Pelicans any way. But the Widing as Gilgames mentioned earlier was one of the best players of Pelicans. He was one of the rare ones who really had guts to try the full 60 minutes despite the Ässät had a really good start (the game finally ended only 4-2 becasue Ässät lost most of their chances and Pelicans goalie Rämö played a good game)

If this was the case things are going to improve - they have a new coach now. Hope he got along better with the Assistant Coach Petteri Sihvonen, as he is the new Head.

I read on an austrian website today that Setzinger isn't with Pelicans anymore. What has happened?

His coach said that Setzinger won't play for Pelicans, Lahti as long as he ist the coach for them. Setzinger is on try out contract for Kalpa, Kuopio. The contract is for four games. Kalpa plays in Mestis (tier 2). It's a shame. I wished he would try in JYP instead.

Setzinger has found a new home in the SM-Liiga. He now plays for HPK Hämeenlinna and introduced himself with an assist in the 3-2 win over Tappara Tamepere!
