There's a similar trend with Cousin who had 9 points in his first 12 or so games and now 20 games in, he's still stuck at 9.
I have seen ~10 Hagg games now.

He has been fine tbh, his D had been better defensively than I expected in a good league (AHL level~) but he has looked to be slightly reluctant at times offensively.

I get why though... at the start of the season he was probably #3... but since then a few experienced guys have came back (injuries) and been put in the lineup ahead of him for obvious reasons (they are veterans, 2 with NHL experience, another swedish international) So he has been shunted to #5... so I think his focus is really trying to be as solid in his own zone as possible first and foremost, whereas early on the onus was on him getting points more. (and it was easier for him to get points when playing with the best 2 lines of offensive players.)

Also worth noting he is the youngest defenseman in the league really. Him and de la Rose are the only 18 year olds playing in the league every game.

Him, Djoos, Bystrom, Nilsson and Pettersson are the only D men under 20 playing in the SHL, he is 2nd in points in that group behind Bystrom (a year older and only 2 points ahead) who was a 2nd round pick in 2012. The other 3 have 1 point between them, and are -22 combined. (Hagg is -1.) Bystrom has a far bigger role on his team as well as their D is not as deep. So he has been the 2nd best D man under 20 in the league most probably.

Playing regularly in the SHL at 18 can only be a good thing frankly, especially as a D man... it is not that common. And his shot is booming, his skating great and his pass very nice, so I imagine next year now they know he is pretty solid defensively they may give him back the offensive role he had nearer the start of the year as he has all the tools.

It seems like he's good for a multi-point game at least once a week.

Laughton is the reason why the CHL and NHL need to change their age rules. The guy is too good for juniors, but not good enough for the NHL

They should allow players from the CHL that are 1st round picks play in the AHL when they're 19

It's going to be really tough to change that rule probably, you're basically taking a lot of money out of the CHL team's pockets. The CHL team recieves money for each player drafted by the NHL from their NHL team. Then you have to factor in all the revenue that comes from the overall ice product.

Union won 3-0 over Princeton today.

Ghost had 0 points on 6 shots, but was +2 for the game.

Union is back in action tomorrow at 7 vs. 5th Ranked Quinnpiac.

I thought it was strange from the get go that we were affiliated with Greenville and Johnston was sent to Orlando. I'm sure he preferred it because Vince Williams (last Titan coach) is coaching down there with several players from last season's Titans roster, but I didn't think it'd happen so quick

The Flyers minor league system definitely can be improved. Murray is a great hire but not sure what Cote brings to the mix. They could also use a designated minor league goalie coach and hopefully before Stolarz arrives. Moving to Allentown will help I think as they will be closer to Philly and could possibly attract AHL veterans to make the team a perennial winner like Hershey.

two goals in the last three minutes to send the game to OT, no less. Then the coach didn't give a chance to shoot in the skills competition and they lost...

I don't even think they wanted to do it, they thought they just needed to. I don't think they like sharing, but they might have to if the Titans don't come back, or don't expand, because they want the affiliate to be close.

Here's a scouting report from Corey Pronman, this was at the beginning of the season though.

Leier does a lot of things well, but he does not stand out in any one area. He works hard, skates well, has some skill, and plays good defense.

If his offense translates, which isnt guaranteed, he could be another Matt Read.

Yeah, a less offensive Matt Read is a good comparison. I've compared him to Talbot in the past but it all depends on how his offense translates.

Either one would be a nice 3rd round pickup. I think he'll have more offense than Talbot though.

You have to remember that he does play for Portland though who have been an offensive juggernaut in recent years in the WHL.

They currently have the 2nd, 3rd, 9th, 12th, 28th, & 44th ranked point producers in the league this year.

I hope he makes the World juniors team to see how he does against the best of his age group. If him or Cousins or maybe even Straka develop into top 9 forwards, the Flyers will have some nice trade options to improve the team.

Yeah, I only got to watch him last year in the Memorial Cup but unfortunately he got knocked out it early with a headshot.

It would be nice, as for next year I would imagine Laughton skips the AHL & starts off on the 4th line like Couturier did. He'll at least bring some a strong skating & more speed upfront.

Titans front office swore to the fans (and their employees) that the team would be back in '14-15. The league said no, and that hockey in Trenton was done for (which is funny, because the ECHL main office is in Princeton).

Closest team is Reading, which is very reasonable for Lehigh Valley and Philadelphia based teams...but it's also the Capitals' ECHL team. Like you said, they'd have to find a way to share.
