Jack Edwards/NESN syndrome. Feed people enough propaganda and they will turn into crass and callous morons.

I just got back here from that.

"Neal should get 6, Thornton should get 2" was the best one along "**** with the Bruins and you will be held accountable".

I pity their lowlife fans suggesting that Orpik faked the whole thing too.

Aaaah man. The Flames did so well up until that goal!

They won in OT! Excellent game.

Can a team be more nonchalant defensively? They just look like they only want to appear like they are playing defense, no energy and no aggression.

It's ****ed up because I just had a conversation with my friend the other day on who I think is the dirtiest player on the Bruins. I told him that Chara and Marchand are dirty as hell but that Lucic is alright and Thornton for a goon plays with an edge but surprisingly never crosses the line like a Chris Neil but damn I can't defend him after today. **** you and see you in 20 games Shawn.

I just visited the Bruins board. Almost all of them said Orpik deserved it and there was nothing wrong with what Thorton did. Thorton just assaulted another player and there is nothing wrong with it. Unbelievable.

**** them. I don't even understand why the mods don't remove their posts/give them an infraction. Nobody is that stupid to think he's faking it.

Started watching hockey at 5 years of age in May 10, 1970 and been a Bruins fan ever since (much to the chagrin of my late Dad who was a die hard Hans fan) so I've seen a bit of hockey and there are now two things I will argue with anyone. First that Bobby Orr was the best who ever played the game and now that Shawn Thornton deserves a medal for finally doing something about the cheap shots the B's seem to endlessly endure.

Good on ya, Sugar. Orpik is a piece of **** and it was long past time for some good old frontier justice. What he did to Orpik is NOTHING compared to what would have happened in the days of O'Rielly, Middleton, Jonathan and Milbury.

As far as the fans of other teams, screw 'em. They want to ***** and whine about the dirty Bruins let them. It's time the B's got nasty and let the rest of the league know that we ain't gonna take your bull**** anymore.

Orpik is OK and flying with the team? Oh goody, now we are down at least two players while the pensies have a good laugh. What I'd really like to see is the brass drop the politically correct bull and stand up and defend Shawn just as he stood up and defended his teammates and just like each and every one of us should stand and defend him now. Unfortunate how it ended? No what is unfortunate is the dbag is not lying in a hospital bed eating through a straw because of his broken jaw. Do I want to see any player seriously hurt? Of course not but I would truly love to see the Cooke's, Orpik's et al get their due.

WELL DONE SHAWN!
Personal favourite. As for faking it, many thought Pacioretty was faking it to get Chara suspended.

PK is the worst on the Habs (and I love him) for embellishment. And I know all teams do it. But this might have been avoided if Marchand didn't act like he was shot.

Complete sell job by him

Yup. 'Cause the Bruins haven't been exactly that since forever.
Ignore the fact that they're nicknamed "Big Bad Bruins" for a reason, ignore the fact that they dress up the likes of Lucic, Chara, Thornton, Marchand and so on, ignore the fact that everytime there's a controversial hit the Bruins are right in the middle of it.

It's telling that the broons board thread is titled "Thornton / Orpik incident" ffs they're in denial that the issue here is one player attacking another in a dastardly manner. No, instead, in the loutish brain, it's two players being involved in an "incident." Mamma mia !

What Thornton did was awful to say the least. But if Neal would have done what he did to our player we would equally be made. One incident doesn't justify or explain the other. But no matter if it was done to Marchand....Neal should be suspended for what he did. As far as Thornton is concerned, if he's a first time offense...for me, that means from 5-10 games. Unfortunately end-results means too much. I'd like the gestures in themselves to be called.

My favourite posts on the Boston board atm are all the people who just can't figure out how Orpik got knocked unconscious by a 'couple of jabs'. Lots of comments like 'people get punched in scrums all the time'. Yes, but usually they're standing up, not dragged to the ground and then having their head punched against the ice

And these are the same Bruins fans that said "The Good Guys lost in the end" after that loss against us. Goes to show that reality is just not something they live in.

It does stand to be pointed out though, that the people throughout history that committed the most brutal atrocities always seemed the most adamant about their "Goodness".
