2 points I'll take, lady luck smiling down tonight but boys worked hard.

Great night for Dustin Boyd, he'll go to sleep with a smile on his face.

Congrats to Boyd on his first nhl goal.GWG,it couldn't have been any bigger than that for Boyd. The Omaha callups are doing great so far.

Tanguay with a 3 pt game and a +3.Very nice to see him step it up when we needed him too.The rest of the line was equally as impressive tonight with Lombardi's 2pt game and Ritchies 2 goals.Wow good for Ritchie.

Yeah, Byron Ritchie has been solid as of late. IMO he's gonna be the Flames' unsung hero while Jarome Iginla is out.

Agreed.I always liked his energy play and willingness to stick up for his teammates.Having him score a couple here and there is pure gravy. I hope Playfair keeps that line together for Minnesotas game.

I agree. That's two things I've always liked about him. For a small guy, he sure has a lot of heart, and is a very gutsy player.

i'm glad we out out of this one with a win... hopefully this will give some of the guys added confidence going into tuesdays game against Minny... Ritchie is playing great... his play the last couple games leaves me wondering if he could steal that 2nd line RW spot from Kobasew

the stars got there shots in bunches and i really think calgary deserved this win. the shots werent a good judge of the game. the first period was bad, i only saw the last 5 game minutes of the first period because i was working, but the rest of the game was pretty even, and the flames more then deserved this win. turco had to make as many big saves as kiprusoff did.

iam just glad that we proved we could win without a number of players. we were almost, if not as beaten up as the stars were. i bet a few certain moronic posters were just waiting for us to lose tonight so they could flame. dont see that dumb vancouver flamer here tonight.

way to go guys. keep it up against minesota

The Flames really toughed it out last night but were able to muster just enough to win. To be honest, I didn't think they were going to hold. In the third period, they had major, major issues getting the puck out of their own end. Role guys like Ritchie and Boyd stepped up....Just a little observation too last night...Regehr and Warrener were very up and down. Had a couple shifts that they'd likely rather forget.

Hey guys i dont post much but i just have a quick question...

My question is... what happens when McCarty and Nilson come back from being injured with moss and boyd up? Do you think they just send em down or give them a shot since they're proving themselves game by game?

i expect boyd to be demoted and McCarty & Lundmark to see pressbox time

Yeah sounds about right. I don't see how you can justify sitting Moss (and Ritchie) at this point.

When everybody's healthy I'd like to see...

Tanguay - Langkow - Iginla
Huselius - Lombardi - Kobasew
Ritchie - Yelle - Amonte
Friesen - Nilson - Moss

That's assuming everybody's healthy at the same time.... and that's still awhile away. Add in the fact that I think Sutter's going to make a couple of moves to upgrade the 2nd and 3rd lines and who knows what the final roster will look like coming down the stretch.

in all honesty i'm expecting Nilson to be out for a long time... this is 2 serious knee injuries in less than a year for him... so i think we might see something more like this...

Tanguay - Langkow - Iginla
Huselius - Lombardi - Ritchie
Friesen - Yelle - Amonte
Moss - Lundmark - Kobasew

i also think the Kobasew/Moss line could really add a whole new element to this team, especially if you actually play them at regular strength and keep Friesen, Yelle and Amonte rested for PK
work... and who knows it may even help our PK... cause it still really sucks badly
