Not interested considering what Buffalo will ask for.

Not interested in giving any team prospects for a rental. They will want a fortune for Moulson at the deadline when he will just walk. The Canucks already acquired a failed rental in Derek Roy for a 2nd + really good D prospect and will regret that for a long time. No more trading prospects when this team's window is closing. Gillis himself also said no more rentals.

Not interested.

Much rather acquire Ryder for significantly less.

I agree. It would probably take a 3rd to get Ryder.

I'm not sure we'll regret that for a long time. That was a good trade, and if we can acquire Moulson for a 2nd and a B level prospect this year I'd be thrilled if Gillis made that deal. Another thing is we need a top 6 winger next season, who says we can't try to re-sign Moulson?

Ryder is more of what we already have. That's a wasted pick, essentially.

Michael Ryder will score a few goals for the Canucks but will he take them to the next level?

Considering Roy did nothing for us in the playoffs... no, it wasn't a good trade.

Hey Canucks fans...why not actually let a BUF fan answer before chiming in?

Might as well be having this conversation on the VAN board.

I suspect the sabres will be trying to obtain a late first round pick for Moulson (2014 or 2015) or the equivalent in prospect + pick.

It depends on how Moulson plays down the stretch to the Trade Deadline, team injuries, and the availability of the market...Moulson could go anywhere from a 2nd round pick to a mid 1st round pick depending on those variables.

None of our tweeners are one shot scorers.

None of the Canucks forwards are one shot scorers.

Ryder might be a 2nd/3rd liner but he's been averaging 33 goals a season for a while now.

Hands down the Sabres will get a first rounder from someone

i know that around here nobody wants to give their 1sts away, but those 16-25 picks are not really that good picks. Also the Sedins are not getting any younger, so if i were Gillis i would definitely try to get Moulson or someone like him though it would mean loosing my first round pick.

I think the Sabres would require a 1st from VAN for Moulson. I don't see a player in VAN's prospect pool who could make a 2nd + B prospect deal work for both sides. Given that the Canucks are on the playoff fringe right now, I could see why they wouldn't be willing to give up that 1st for Moulson.

Ryder won't be available for as long as the Devils continue to be a bubble team. Lou NEVER sells at the deadline...EVER...

Pisses us off

That said I don't see how Ryder gets moved for anything less than a 2nd and a decent prospect.

I'm not 100% sold on Moulson being the right piece to push us over the top.

Starts with a 1st ... highest bidder wins.... pretty straight forward.

unless we get a superstar, there isn't a single player that would push us over the top. Moulson would be a good piece to add in terms of skillset and cap hit. not sure what the Sabres would be asking though.

Buffalo will get numerous offers for Moulson. It will require a 1st + someting

If Vancouver is a bubble team, Buffalo likely will allow the pick to be lottery protected if they were to miss the playoffs.

If its a 2nd then it will likely be Shinakirk + 2nd

2014 1st and something of small to decent value. There will likely be numerous teams offering their 1st for him, so he'll go to whoever can offer the best other piece. 2014 1st and 2015 3rd would do it for me.

Buffalo would likely take Shinkaruk alone and run. A low first rounder in a better draft that's further along in his development is worth more than a low first rounder this year.
