OT - Skating in Montreal

A friend of mine just got new skates and wants to go try them out. Where can we find some ice in Montreal? We've tried the Atrium, but it was packed and it wasn't very fun.

We live in TMR, but I don't believe the rinks in the centre of town are ready yet.

Any sugguestions?

Guys, any rink in the city of Montreal has free skating. I haven't been in ages but I think there are typically 2 or 3 hours of free skating on Sunday afternoons...

Like I said... haven't in ages but give them a call. I know this isn't specific to TMR but a short drive and $2-$3 is all you need.

EDIT: Pretty much every rink i've been to for free skating had a pro shop where you can get your skates sharpened. If you need to rent a pair, men's or women's, I think most rinks can help you out.

Yeah like the first poster said : Aréna Raymond Bourque on Thimens (Ville St-Laurent) is a pretty good rink to skate and there's really not a lot of people usually.
