I wish the Jets had more expendable assets because I'd love to see Callahan in Winnipeg. Realistically I can't see Callahan outside of the Rangers even if he's been lackluster this year.

What positions are the NYR looking to improve at? The one thing the Jets have is a plethora of right-handed puck moving d-men.

I would definitely welcome a Franson for Girardi as the main part of the deal.

Who's asking? Generally, I'd take a 1st and a skilled prospect with 2nd line/2nd pairing upside.

I'd assume Trouba and Bogosian are off limits, so that leaves Big Buff.

The Rangers need a finisher up front that can play the top 6 and a good puck moving guy out of the back end, preferably right handed. Bonus points if they have a good shot from the point. Buff would interest me, as he has those qualities, but I'd worry about his speed and lateral movement.

What would the Jets offer for Callahan? I can see the two teams making good trading partners.

I don't think the Pens have the pieces to get it done unless NYR is interested in Sutter. But even if they are, I don't see them trading their captain to a rival team.

for the islanders, lee, mayfield, pedan, a first and a second

that package makes the islanders stanley cup contenders imo, 2 very very good defensive dmen and callahan would be the ideal right wing for the tavares vanek line

The sight of Ryan Callahan in a Penguins sweater may actually make me projectile vomit on the Chase bridges at MSG onto the ice and the unfortunate people below.

It would take overpayment for the Rangers to deal any of these guys within the Metro division. Realistically, unless the Penguins want to cough up Bennett, I don't see it happening.

It's possible that Setoguchi could be a guy that fits the finisher role for the top six (he is a UFA after this year though) and Byfuglien is definitely a guy who could potentially be available. I would expect more back for him though based strictly on his contract situation compared to Callahan's.

We also have Postma and Redmond who are right handed puck moving d-men prospects. Redmond is currently recovering from injuries and playing quite well in the AHL and Postma had a blod clot and I have no idea what kind of timetable his return would take. Redmond is gifted more defensively, while Postma is better offensively. Both have good point shots and Postma's is an absolute cannon.

Lots of Jets fans are very torn on Bogosian's availability. I'm not in the group that has him on the "no trade list" but I think it would require an overpayment to land him. Trouba is on my no-trade list however.

Colorado could use both (Callahan & Girardi) actually,

McGinn + Barrie/Elliott + 1st 2014

Both are UFAs or I'd offer much more.

I won't say he's the fastest, but for his size, I wouldn't say he's bad. He's pretty much a stereotypical NHL bottom 6 guy. Plays PK, defensively, very versatile, FO wiz, etc.

If you want Abbott (whose speed is increasing every game) or Raymond however, though they may come at a higher price than Smithson, so at this point, I think Smithson is your best bang for your buck, and gives you the chance to move one of them out for a guy with speed, because I'm sure you can find a cheaper solution than Raymond or Abbott (well Abbott maybe, but it'd be better if he was traded separately in a separate deal)

Honestly i'd make that trade if the pens can afford to extend him, Callahan would be perfect for this team.

I'd be reluctant to give up Gaunce seeing as how he's a center, and we can never have too many of those.

Ryan Callahan is one of my favorite Rangers. Ever since he came back from the broken hand, his play has fallen off of a cliff. Given his injury history, I'm thinking long and hard about bringing him back. A long term contract for him or Girardi is very risky considering the type of game they play.
You make them sound so appealing.

What do I have to gain from lying about my team's players on a hockey message board? That's been the situation.

Maybe a 1st and a bust prospect for Callahan as a rental. Maybe not, depends where B's roster is holding up.

Sharks offer Wingels+Demers+conditional pick for Staal.

Pick is a 1st if he reaches a set amount of GP, a 3rd if he does not.

I'd rather you added Kulemin and asked for a smaller piece added from us. No interest in Biggs/Ashton.

Thats understandable and fair. Chances are the Leafs won't be able to fit Kulie under the cap, which is a shame.

Yakupov and Petry for Callahan, Girardi and Boyle assuming that we can extend the first 2 and it gets done before the trade goes down.

Would be willing to part with MTL's 1st, (beaulieu or tinordi) & Bourque for Callahan.
