The NHL better start looking at how little they're calling obstruction, interference, holding, etc. They're destroying the on-ice product that was so popular from 2005-2011.

It is pretty silly.

The Flyers are probably the 3rd best team in the division tbh. So long as they play ~hockey for the rest of the year.

Boston and Pitt are the only scary teams in the whole conference tbh. And Flyers own Pitt. If they make the playoffs I would feel the Flyers had a decent/realistic chance of a win vs anyone but Boston... that is saying something as this team is really a ~cusp playoff team.

I really hate how Berube has the center playing so high. The strength of the offense is down the middle, and with the current system, they're essentially neutralizing their best players. It's no wonder Giroux and Schenn are struggling to produce at 5 on 5.

I'm fully convinced you're Giroux's agent or something, the guy is totally infallible to you.

He had two good chances late in the third, one where he completely flubbed a pass on a routine pass in the faceoff circle & the second one where he had Anderson down & out off a rebound & shot it directly into Anderson.

The whole line stinks though not just him.

Kimmo is fantastic at doing it perfectly legally as well, (ie the stay infront/slight touch/stand up for that millisecond.) him and Schenn are the only two who seemingly do that in anyway on our D.

Exactly, people can't really blame the lack of production on Giroux considering his linemates. He a third of his time giving them great passes that they screw up, a third on trying to accept horrible passes from them, and a third by trying to make up for and cover up their mistakes. He's being completely wasted with Hartnell and this version of Voracek.

Yeah the Hawks are injured right now and playing up and down hockey

Wont be some big blowout like some of you guys think

I wouldn't be shocked if Q gives 21 yr old Simpson a start at some point (Could be vs Flyers)

Don't worry the Flyers make rookie goalies look like Vezina winners.

Eh dont know how else to show it but one can easily see that voracek and especially hartnell are killing giroux. For every chance he has he gives 3 or 4 fold to them. Im not even saying he looks good bbut if these guys actually finish stuff he gives them we dont even talk about it. Just like Giroux's 90+ season where Hartnell was playing out of his mind and also had Jagr.

I've been asking for all of the lines to be re-arranged for about 15+ games now, it'd be really nice if it happened sometime this season.

I disagree, Giroux hasn't buried a lot of his chances as well this year neither.

The whole line is terrible. I wouldn't mind a complete shake up in lines.

Voracek is not a great ES player, even going back to last year. He looks for low percentage, cross ice passes with two or more defenders in the path far too often. I think if he could learn to take the puck to the freaking net, and let Hartnell do his job without the puck, this line would be more effective at ES.

Also, I'm getting a bit sick of Streit and his turnovers. It's pretty evident he is not the player he was two plus years ago. His contract is looking to be a big mistake.

Haha nope, I get frustrated with him too, but I would be willing to bet that most of his problems are a direct result of one or both of Hartnell/Voracek. Honestly I don't think it's possible to judge his season correctly with the linemates he's currently playing with. You put Crosby on a line with Rosehill and Rinaldo all season and he won't look great either. Obviously that's an exaggeration but you get my point.

And that scoring chance in the third wasn't as bad as you make it seem. He directed a shot towards the net, which bounced off Andersons pad, and he got the puck on his backhand and tried to get it on net but it wasn't a very strong shot. It's not like he had the full net to shoot at and he shoots into the goalie.

Slightly off topic...

When I used to play soccer and rugby we used to have a tactic called footsteps.

First minute of the game make a borderline nasty tackle on one of their better players (as they will never send you off or sin bin you in the first minute.) then whisper in their ear that you would break their legs next time (or crush their windpipe if playing rugby) it was a remarkably effective tactic and the player was usually subdued/scared for the rest of the game... as son as they heard your footsteps.

Heck, Roy Keane made a career off it and so does most of the South African rugby union team! Intimidate early and let others react.

Though I question any coaches who teach that kind of stuff to u-16s... not the best approach to teaching open minded youths sports.

You could make the argument that Voracek and Hartnell are the two worst wingers in the top nine right now. That certainly isn't helping Giroux. He's one of the few super stars in the league that doesn't have another super star to play with.

Malkin-Neal
Getzlaf-Perry
Toews-Kane/Hossa/Sharp
Tavares-Vanek
Ovechkin-Backstrom
Seguin-Benn
Sedin-Sedin
Spezza-Ryan(maybe not always, but it helps just having him on the roster. And Spezza isn't necessarily a super star)
Staal-Semin
Stamkos-St. Louis
Thornton-Marleau
Koivu-Parise
Datsyuk-Zetterburg

And Giroux has an underwhelming Voracek and Hartnell. Even Crosby has Kunitz.

You're definition of a superstar is quite puzzling.

Also, I'm pretty sure G is not the only "super star" on your list there that is struggling with his line mates this year.

Some guys just can't handle the intimidation factor. We all know who they are mostly.
