“They’ve been Ranger fans forever,” he said. “We’ve had season tickets since 1966 or 1964, I’m pretty sure, and my family still goes to games all the time. I try to get to a game here and there, but it’s a little different now that I’m playing in the organization.

“When I was younger our seats were on the Rangers’ side of the ice, behind the net, up like 25, 30 rows, and then we ended up moving them, and now we’re like ten rows behind the benches.

“All the time, we went to games, as many home games as I could possibly go to, I went.”

Ah Plainview, NY...I was born there. Good town. I'm now rooting for this kid even more LOL. Even though it's in the middle of Islanders territory Plainview has a HUGE Rangers fan base.

Great story, good intangibles, what are his odds of making it though?

Better than people think. He could be a quality NHL 4th line spark plug. We need it and he'd make a few million over a few years in the NHL.

He's been averaging about 2-3 fights per game in the A.

From what I've seen he's not a very good fighter. He'll probably get better at that as he gets older, stronger and a bit wiser. He looks like a great agitator and a guy that hits anything that moves.

Very excited for him. His skating is already very good which normally correlates to a solid checking game, which he already has.

Maybe if we brought up more kids like this instead of signing old guys who cant skate, our bottom 6 wouldnt be the worst in the league.

He just isn't ready for the NHL yet. Maybe next season.

They don't want to rush the kids, which is a good thing. Let Kantor continue to play and hone his skills in the AHL. Hope to get some offense out of him in the future.

I don't know. My point is when people are calling for him to be brought up because, in their mind, it's him or a an aging Asham, nobody can tell me that this organization has depth. Bodies, maybe, but that's not depth. It's more of Russia in WWI mentality.

He's not good enough to play any sort of minutes in the nhl. Don't care if he fights

He's not bad and knows what he's doing in his scraps. Definitely needs to get stronger/fill out. Definitely has decent wheels. Hopefully he can put up some points too.

Ok, Kantor is not good enough to play significant minutes in the AHL right now.

If Kantor fills out to 210-215 pounds, I see him having no problem with the middleweights of the NHL. He's a smart fighter.

I hope he makes the team in a few years, would be nice to finally have a homegrown 4th liner.
